While they were immediately helpful, the employee helping me with my attempt at selling Yu-Gi-Oh cards, I only brought a few sleeves of my collection to see what kind of pricing I could expect, he very halfheartedly began to briefly gleam at the cards and barely even got through the second sleeve(mind you, only front facing, none on back) before he started with the typical response, value and condition; minimum $10 and condition, well this is at their discretion. The reason I say this because I already knew these requirements before hand and already had only $10 minimum cards in these sleeves, infact I had quite some $100+ cards, roughly 10 in there and 2 or 3 $300+ cards as well. All these cards have light to no play at all when it came to condition, but they ended up not even taking any out from the sleeve or even looking a single one up; 1 other person in the store reading comics and it was early afternoon so I couldn't even call them too "busy" to do so. I would give 3 stars but the fact that not a single card was even checked for value, and they were obvious high valued named cards, just bothers me so much. I'm always going to be a nerd/geek/whatever you wanna call it nowadays(36yo) but one thing I've noticed is the poor attitude that has become these younger generation of these groups. Instead of being happy and/or at least maintain a level of kindness as it always has been, to be who you are in today's culture where it's socially more accepted and even trendy to be "nerdy", it's met with snotty brattiness and a "too good for you now" vibe or think Mean Girls but they are the actual l mean girls. Oh well. 2 stars for you. Sorry, I'm fair, but you weren't.
Sidenote This response was just as bad as the Great Mall Legends store, except this only reflects on 1 employee versus the GM Legends store, the entire employee group was disappointing, to the point of me watching for almost an hour, customers leave, after being ready to purchase goods waiting in line to be helped by any of the 4 or 5 employees; I honestly couldn't tell exactly as they were dressed so casually without a name tag or badge to distinguish and they were walking the front of the counter gawking at the card player with the cards that everyone was so distracted by(which by the way, all that time wasted and potential customer sales gone only for them to settle around $40 store credit for the fuss of proving that customers cards weren't what he was bragging about, which is in poor taste and terribly handled customer service wise)
More Sidenotes The only Legends store that has been repeatedly helpful and honest straightforward each and everytime, to my biggest surprise even, has been the Eastridge Mall store. For over a few years, I have been able to do business with them with different employees, even one time helped by one of the bosses(part owner I believe) for different reasons per my visit and have resulted in over a few thousand dollars worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame into the store about 45 minutes before closing to ask if they bought toys an employee by the name of Luis was very rude and acted as if I was bothering him or if I was wasting his time he said they don't take toys but the other stores do but they don't buy 90s junk because they already have so much of it. As I was asking about prices I asked if I could get closer to a display case next to the register he immediately said no! Then I asked what if I wanted to see the toys he then continued to say I could look but not touch which I had no intentions of touching... Long story short on the way out I saw a Toy Story toy that I liked for my son I told him I'll take it (It was behind a display case) he brought it up to the register and I gave him $40 in cash and asked if I could pay the $3.72 on my card he said yes once he put my $40 in the register and I tapped my phone to pay I reached for the toy and he was fighting me for it while the transaction went threw!!! Ridiculous!! If I was going to steal it I wouldn't have paid the majority of it in cash? I told my wife about it and she went back to return it. He then was even more disrespectful to my wife when she asked to return it. He didn't have exact change and said keep the extra penny you seem like you need it or something along the lines of that. Beware of LUIS he acts like he hates his job and I won't support a store like this. Hopefully management looks into this because people deserve to be treated better!!!! Just because I'm a Latino with tattoos doesn't make me any less...
