Ok. Im changing my review (Chicken Soup 15.99) because even tho I original thought Soup did not have flavour ( except salt), i want to respect owners response. Maybe my taste is that I dont like too much salt ( I did review PhoHaNoi before complain that they also put too much salt but there other ppl complain too about salty soup). It is just that for 15.99, i want my soup to be good. There were alot of Chicken & veggies tho.
I used to make homemade Chicken broth at home. I used to save all my chicken bones (in freezer) & boil the bones (turn heat to low simmer) for hours. On low heat simmer for 7 hours. I add no salt & could taste the rich chicken flavour. I later add a little salt. Even with Ramen I find too salty so I put half the packet of food flavour but I can still taste the Umami or chicken flavour.
I read the other reviews & see that you do give generous portions for people & I respect that. We have Panda close to our West San Jose area that many times give small or tiny portions so it is nice to see a business that gives bigger portions. But I did not give them a negative review since they did give me 1.50 discount for receiving small portion.
It is just for 15.99 I want the soup to be good. Maybe you are simmering the chicken bones longer & have more flavour now. I read online that if you add a little chicken meat, there be more flavour too ( maybe add it near the end)...its just when I used to simmer my own chicken bones, I did alot of bones for many hours & it was delicious. i did a test for Pho Khan. I did negative review (on Yelp) because their soup also had very little flavour ( and too salty too). But they gave me alot of Beef. The problem they had was their soup was not Hot ( it was room temp). So I went home with leftover. The next day, I took all the Beef they gave me and warm up the soup in microwave. Because they gave me so much Beef, the flavour came through ( they just need to make their soup Hot) If I remember correctly, your soup was Hot...so I think you just need to simmer your chicken bones longer to get more flavour or add a tiny tiny vinegar ( this will get the flavour out of the chicken) but your kitchen will smell like vinegar. Or you can add Onion to give soup more flavour without too much salt. The cheapest Pho place I found in Bay area was PhoNam but I have to drive too far north to get Pho for 13.50 and 14.99 Large Pho is the cheapest I can get in Bay Area. Anyhow, I hope your restaurant is successful as I see you do give...
Read moreGot my one year old daughter and I a Ruby Thai Kitchen tonight. I ordered my daughter mango chicken and rice and myself mango kitchen and noodles. I began to cut up my daughters chicken and it was raw! I called the restaurant who asked me to send her photos. I sent her photos and she called stating that the chicken comes from a factory and they just cook it. That it’s normal for it to be pink on the inside. This is chicken and should not be red or pink and noticeably raw! My daughter and I did eat a piece prior to noticing it is raw. I will be contacting the Santa Clara County Health Department due to this! Thankfully my daughter is young where I have to cut up her food otherwise who knows how much she would have eaten and I have not known. Please be aware and check the chicken as obviously they do not. This can kill someone! Especially a child! And she said this...
Read moreThe food here is good, but the pricing is not worth the quality. If you purchase a combo #1 plate, they will only give you a small portion of the entree while the side portion is a lot larger. Secondly, the staff here are annoying and their behavior is ridiculous. For example, if you were to purchase a #2 combo plate they will be happy and say "thank you". But if you were to buy a #1 combo plate then they won't be as happy. As a matter of fact, one of the ladies there made a comment at checkout when she saw that I bought a #1 combo and she said, "Aw, a #1 combo?". They shouldn't be making any comments if they see customers but any smaller valued items, it's none of their business, people have the right to purchase what they want at any value and they as a business should be happy to see people buy stuff from them. They only seem to care about making money...
