The absolute worst food I've had in quite a long time. We used Groupon, and still it was the worst deal I've come across in a long time -- someone would have to pay me to eat that food. Also comes with free stomach upset -- reason why I am compelled to write a review to warn others. Not sure why it's so highly rated, I wonder if they are all legitimate -- or maybe there's some "supreme master" cult influence. Google "loving hut supreme master ching hai" and you'll see what I mean.
While not a vegan myself, my partner is, and we've tried all kinds of vegan restaurants. This place is worst than abysmal -- if that's possible. Things we ordered:
hand roll -- the picture looks like what you'd get at a sushi restaurant. Don't be fooled, it's got no sushi flavor. First, no sushi rice. It's basically lettuce wrapped in seaweed with some cucumber and a piece of "shrimp". It's cold, and so felt likely literally some cold left-over from the fridge slapped together
wonton in hot oil -- a classic in szechuan food. Again, it looks nothing like the picture in the menu. We felt deceived again. None of the szechuan spicy peppery flavor. Wonton felt like they came out of a frozen package -- lukewarm and chewy thick skin with little soy bits filling (no vegetables).
"healthy" rice -- if you could call that healthy. Again, looks nothing like the picture in the menu. It looks and tastes like left-over rice drenched in overly sweet sauce and oil. There were a bit of sesame and pinenuts, but they were NOT cooked together -- Merely "tossed" together. I took a bite and could not finish. Definitely the worst dish of them all.
Fried shrimp thing -- it was the only thing that was acceptable. Still, looks NOTING like the picture in the menu. It was deep-fried instead of "tempura" style. It's the only thing that I felt alright eating. One problem was, it was padded with lettuce so half the volume of the disk was just junk.
Many items we got were loaded with junk stuff like lettuce and tomatoes (they throw that on even the rice, seriously?). I left hungry and am glad that I didn't have to finish the food. Even with Groupon the bill came out $40+ with tips. You'd have to pay me to eat that stuff. Both my partner and I got stomach upset (pain, excessive gas and bloat) after eating. Couldn't shake it off after workout either. Coincidence? I think not. There's also weird vibe at the restaurant with the cult "supreme master TV" playing. I guess you could say, it's literally got a cult following. Do yourselves a favor, go north and visit Veggie Lee for all vegan good Chinese food, you won't be disappointed. Hell even Mint and...
Read moreI came here yesterday because this is one of the few restaurants that serves organic tofu. I ordered the Mapo tofu. Then I came back today as a repeat customer to order the Gourmet Fried rice which includes Tofu by default. I specifically asked about the Tofu in the fried rice because that's what I had wanted. When I got home, there was no Tofu in the fried rice. I called the restaurant, they asked me to bring the fried rice back. I did so, and they made another one for me. However, I had to spend an additional 45 mins driving back and forth to the restaurant to get a replacement dish and they didn't even offer me a discount or anything to compensate me for my inconvenience. They were so strict about it. All they did was say that they added extra tofu. I counted the number of pieces of Tofu in the rice and there were 7 pieces. How is that extra and how is that compensation for having to drive all the way back to the restaurant since they messed up the order? They just lost a repeat customer who would have eaten here twice a week. Very disappointed with their customer service. Shows how greedy they are and couldn't even offer to discount the meal despite me bringing back the entire thing back to them. More importantly, the first thing any good restaurant would do is apologize for messing up the order and for my inconvenience. This was the last thing that they did and it didn't even seem...

2nd visit (literally the next day because i loved it so much): i got the pad thai, mango cake, and tiramisu. i didnt get any mango flavor in the cake but it was so good. I LOVED IT. the staff recommended it. my dad loved the tiramisu. the pad thai was great they even had vegan shrimp in it and it was so good, it tasted like fish balls.
this time i asked for no bag and they were happy to help. all of the staff is so nice. my dad who is not vegan loved the vegan food more than the meat he got at C.Q. noodle next door (which sucked).
