Michaels Crafts: Where DIY Dreams (and Glue Gun Mishaps) Come True!
Ah, Michaels Crafts, the land where Pinterest dreams collide with reality, and where my DIY aspirations go to either flourish or burst into flames—literally.
Walking into Michaels is like stepping into a parallel universe where glitter reigns supreme, and every corner whispers, "You can totally make that!" Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just looking for an excuse to buy a glue gun you'll use once and then forget about for the next decade, Michaels has got you covered.
Now, let's talk about their aisles—seriously, who knew there were so many types of paper? It's like Hogwarts, but instead of wands, you're waving around a pair of scissors and hoping not to accidentally decapitate any unsuspecting pom-poms.
And don't even get me started on the yarn section. I swear, it's like a siren call for every wannabe scarf-maker within a ten-mile radius. You go in for one skein and come out with enough yarn to knit a sweater for every member of your extended family—including the dog.
But let's not forget the real star of the show: the clearance section. It's a treasure trove of half-finished projects and abandoned dreams, where you can score everything from slightly dented picture frames to that one random jar of glitter no one else wanted because it's cursed. Bargain hunting has never been so thrilling—or dangerous.
And let's take a moment to appreciate the staff, who navigate the chaos with the patience of saints. From untangling the eternal yarn knots to explaining for the umpteenth time that no, they don't have any more rose gold washi tape in the back, they're the unsung heroes of the crafting world.
In conclusion, Michaels Crafts is like Disneyland for DIY enthusiasts, minus the long lines and overpriced churros (although I wouldn't say no to a glue gun-shaped churro, just saying). So grab your glitter, unleash your inner Martha Stewart, and prepare for a crafting adventure you won't soon forget—whether you...
Read moreThis has got to be the worst Michaels I have ever shopped at (and sadly, it's the closest one to my home). The shelves are either half-empty OR usually a mess. The staff is always in the way doing stocking when you are trying to shop. Prices for many items are nowhere to be found. (Just bought tiny battery operated Christmas lights from a huge section of shelves that had no pricing listed anywhere; turns out they were 3 times as much as I expected them to be, so I will be returning them.) And what they have to offer in general is SO much more limited than in other Michaels I've been to (jewelry makings, wood crafts, floral crafts, scrapbooking...). Finally (and this REALLY infuriates me), multiple things that I was told online were definitely in stock at this exact store (and not just "limited stock", but, for example, "13 left in stock") have been nowhere to be found by me OR a clerk. Who the heck is doing their inventory?! Unfortunately, I've decided I'd rather drive to the other side of town or to the one in Cupertino (Homestead) if I want the true Michaels experience I've been used to...
Read moreI asked for help looking for an item and the tall guy with glasses was very unprofessional. I was already in the isle that the app said the item was in, he proceeded to ask if I had checked and then goes to a different isle to look for it. I mentioned that the app showed it in stock. He spoke very quietly and already had an attitude from the get go. Prior to this, there were 3 other staff members who I had made eye contact with, but they did not bother to ask if I needed help. Not only that, the store was very unorganized and there were miscellaneous piles in between isles. Are the reviews on this store bought? Because my experience was much different than the 5 star reviews.
EDIT: I ended up ordering it online and turns out they did have it in stock. Also, I received a message that the pick up was ready, but when I arrived the item was nowhere on the pick up rack and I had to ask a team member. Why mark it ready, if...
