Plant Depot — Attraction in San Juan Capistrano

Nice local nursery with well-trained staff. We shopped many times here. However, this review is to report a dangerous and reckless driver heading to the nursery. He was on the left, attempting to make a left turn, while we were on the right, in the opposite direction. He refused to yield to oncoming traffic and falsely claimed that our car had “cut him off.” According to standard U.S. traffic laws, a driver making a left turn at an intersection must yield the right-of-way to oncoming vehicles proceeding straight or turning right. This also applies to drivers turning into alleys, private roads, or driveways.

We have clear evidence showing we did not block his path. We were approaching from the opposite direction—He should yield for oncoming opposite traffic until the road is safe or cleared. Once we pointed out the facts. He irrationally claimed we “cut him off from behind,” ??? That’s completely irrelevant new story, which is not physically possible. Worser than first story.We drove from opposite direction! We have GPS history. It seems he’s living in his own traffic rules and fantasy. This is public road, not his backyard!

It also seems he holds a bias against certain car brands. Despite our calm and respectful explanation, he refused to acknowledge traffic laws and unfairly targeted on car brand. But he might not know our car has multiple cameras captured the scene.Ridiculous man. Poor...

Pretty frustrated to say the least. I have been using this nursery for a long time and have been a very good customer. I am re-landscaping my home and needed some kangaroo paws. June 9th I messaged Plant Depot as it recommends on the website and they respond quickly that they will order them and should have them by the end of the week. June 13th, On Friday, I follow up for updates, as now my entire project is on hold and all the workers are waiting on these to arrive. I am working on a deadline as this is for an air bnb and I have a new guest checking in. I follow up and they let me know, no they have not arrived yet but they will let me know when it does. June 20th still no updates I follow up again, and the response I received was shocking. We have not found them yet as this time of year we don't order as often. That comment leads me to guess they were never even ordered. So I follow up and ask, so are you saying they haven't even been ordered. Which Kathleen continues, no we have not found them yet, they are sold out and they can't order if they aren't available. If this information was given to me at the very beginning I would have found elsewhere. But no, that information was never provided. THE BEST PLANT AND GARDEN SHOP EVER With gardening as a hobby, I have been to garden centers all across the country looking for the unique and special… and Plant Depot takes the prize!

Why? First off, they have absolutely the best selection of different varieties of plants at different sizes. We snagged a 10 foot pink and white Bougainvillea for only $135. It was unique for both its hight and color. What a unicorn, and exactly what we were needing.

Second, all the plants are super healthy and the tables of plants are constantly cared for. No wilting plants, no brown plants, no dead plants anywhere.

Third, staff! They have a small army caring for their goods and available to assist clients. What’s more, this staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Then last, they have the best selection of pots that you’ll find anywhere. Different colors, different shapes, different textures, there must be a thousand to choose from. But tap the bank before you come, the pots are not cheap.
