Lots of things great about this renfair: nearly everyone was in costume (guests and vendors alike), there were lots of places to shop for wares and what not, decent amount of shade, everyone was very nice, the tents and scenery was really neat and having the Queen walk around was a really nice touch.
Couple things to note that were a little unexpected in a disappointing way: not a lot of actual activities. The primary things to do were eat and shop, which is fineā¦but maybe not for eight hours? We were expecting more things to actually do like at other renfairs we have been to: knife throwing, fencing, crossbow firing, etc. Really the only two activities we could find were archery and painting.
Most of the shows were also a lot alike: jokes, story telling, and playing lutes. Not a lot of demonstrations: flaming whips, aerial silks, juggling, glass blowing, etc. The hand to hand combat was fun to watch though!
All in all, it seems like this renfair is relatively new and still growing? (I have absolutely no clue how many years this has been going on) I brought my two teenage kids, all of us in costume, and it seems like maybe we should wait a few more years to come back when there is more to see and do? We frequent renfairs as much as possible, but this one seemed to be missing quite a few elements.
One last tiny thing - parking was kind of a nightmare. It didnāt seem like anyone knew what was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlways a fun weekend when the faire rolls into town! From the bustling market vendors to the thrilling knight fights and rowdy pirate games (some of our personal favorites), the Central Coast Renaissance Faire never fails to bring the magic. Be sure to buy your tickets online in advance so you don't have to wait in line. The atmosphere is full of joy and energy, with so many talented performers filling the day with laughs, songs, and swordplay. We especially enjoyed The Wives of Windsor, Damage Kontrol, and the hilariously interactive 79 Ways to Die, which had the audience roaring with laughter and even participating on stage. One of the faireās unsung highlights is the guy with the infamous āDonāt Ring This Bellā sign. Every time someone gave in to temptation, he had a new and unexpected response. Itās the kind of playful, chaotic fun that makes the event so memorable. Exploring the market was a delight in itself. Every booth offered something unique, from handcrafted hats and fine leatherwork to beautifully forged knives and swords. Itās a great place to pick up something one-of-a-kind or just admire the artistry. All in all, it was another truly epic event. Whether youāre a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, the Central Coast Ren Faire is a must-attend experience. We look forward to it every year, and already canāt wait for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are handicap, please know that the grounds are riddled with ruts and even though there was hay down, it was extremely difficult and frustrating to navigate with a walker. The fair itself was great. I have been attending RenFairs for 51 years and was disappointed with this one. Because of the grounds walking around was just not easy for me me. My daughter had even checked online to see the conditions prior to buying the tickets. I spent the whole time there sitting at the main area because of the difficulty walking. I came home with a very sore back because of all the struggle. I was not able to walk around or even enjoy the booth.. I did watch the jousting which was amazing. I also was extremely disappointed in the food. My daughter bought steak-on-a-dtake, an artichoke and 2 huge pretzels. The steak was dry and very bland and chewy..the artichoke wasn't even cooked all the way. It wasn't until I pulledist of the leave off and got to the smaller inside leave that is was soft. All the outside leaves were pretty hard. We ended up throwing it away. The only thing really worth eating was the pretzel, and the dipping sauce was amazing. We bought some fudge which was ok. My oldest granddaughter did get to hold and pet a pygmy falcon. That was a great thing. All people working at the fair were...
