I'm sad to say that this place was not good. It was my first time here and last. I ordered the shrimp chow mein. The noodles were good but the shrimp was lacking flavor and not fresh. My friend ordered the general chicken which is supposed to be spicy and sweet but, it was neither. The sauce was runny and salty. I don't do well with spicy food and can attest it was not spicy at all. Not even pepper seasoning spicy. The worst dish of all was the walnut shrimp, it had an old unpleasant taste as if it had been sitting there all day. My friend tried one shrimp and spit it out. It came in a bed a raw broccoli, the Walnuts were plain not candied, it seemed the sauce was poured over the shrimp so some were not coated and the shrimp was boiled not fried. And to add to the damage it was $22 for this plate alone. We spoke to the owner who did not like the criticism and instead blamed us. She insisted that the food was fresh even though we got it within minutes of ordering. She refused to remove the walnut shrimp from the bill and only offered something else but still charge for the walnut shrimp. There is no point in arguing with someone who is in denial. We paid the bill and left. As a business owner I would never treat my customers this way. I use customers reviews and criticism to better my product. Unless this lady does the same, I don't see this place open for...
Read moreThis is a spacious restaurant with a patio and ambience, but the food and service not so great. There was a strange smell when we entered, maybe it was burnt cooking oil.
I like to give people the benefit of doubt knowing that everyone has a bad day, but we just got the vibe that our server didn't want to be there or just didn't care. When I asked for chopsticks, she was quick to provide them, but she just threw them on the plates and left. We felt a little rushed. It was our first visit - and their menu, although it contains most well known Chinese dishes, is quite large.
After looking at the lunch/dinner specials, and reviewing the dinner menu (it was between lunch and dinner service), we decided to try egg rolls and almond chicken, with plum wine.
The egg rolls had no flavor. Additionally, it appeared there was more roll than vegetables and other fillings. After adding soy sauce to the dipping sauce, my husband took one bite and was done.
Our almond chicken was garnished with slivered almonds, but it had more onions than chicken and vegetables. And again, cooked and tender but no flavor. When we eat at most Chinese restaurants, we usually take leftovers to go. This time, we did not.
I don't think that we would return here. The landscaping, decor and Chinese music give it character, but the food is just...
Read moreAwful!! Please heed my warning. I ordered the Pu Pu Platter with a side of fried rice. The fried rice was obviously reheated, bland, and flavorless, with a plasticy texture. Its only contents was a few measly peas and processed carrots. Most disappointing was the Pu Pu Platter...it wasn't a pu pu platter!!! It was just an appetizer sampler!!! Just a few egg rolls and won tons.... It did have SOME meat, and although the wrapped tinfoil meat was fine, the skewers, although tasty enough, immediately got COLD because they didn't provide us with a classic pu pu platter fire dish! They should rewrite their menu...that was not a pu pu platter. Also, it was 20 dollars!! And the rice was 4!! Absurd. I had to go somewhere else to eat after because I was so disappointed... As a pu pu platter fan I am...
