We tried ordering breakfast online with a gift card. It wasn't accepting the card so I called the restaurant or order. I spoke with Martha who told me, not nicely, I would have to call corporate to find out about the gift card not being accepted. I placed our order and Martha said it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. We arrived in 15 minutes. We stood near the front desk and no one acknowledged us. Finally a younger man asked if we had been helped. We said we were there to pick up our order. He asked for my name, went around the corner and when he came back he stated there was no order with my name. Seeing that we were not happy he said he would check again. When he went around the corner a woman came out said said the younger man was new and didn't know anything. I said I had spoken to someone named Martha, she said that was her and to follow her. I asked why I am following you? So you can pay she answered. I followed her across the restaurant to a pay station. When I gave her my cc card and she asked where was the gift card. She had implied there was something wrong with the card, why would I try to use it? I asked about our order and she said it would be a few minutes. 15 minutes later, we finally got our food. We waited the initial 15 when we ordered, another 10 to 15 minutes to be acknowledged and pay. Then another 15 minutes to receive our food. I don't believe our order was placed until we arrived and paid. Which, to my knowledge, isn't the way a phoned in order of take out works. I understand that good knowledgeable staff is difficult to find and keep hired, but rudeness shouldn't be tolerated. She basically called the only person who attempted to help us stupid. Was rude to me about the gift card and generally annoyed that we wanted our breakfast when we arrived when she told us it would be ready. I can not recommend this location at present. Management and staff need more training. There's a reason why it's called the hospitality industry. One staff member was trying to help and the other wasn't hospitable to us...
Read moreI took some friends to IHOP today to try the new promoted IHOB, and I was embarrassed for subjecting them to the food, service, and overall experience.
I can't even actually remember receiving a single smile from our waitress. When we were acknowledged by the counter, a waitress pointed to a table and told us to go seat ourselves. No one came around to take our drink or food orders for about 10 minutes although several employees walked by us; we ordered 3 Burger Classics, and 1 Jalapeno Burger, 3 iced teas, and 1 water.
Service throughout the rest of our lunch was AWFUL including about 40 minutes before our food came out (saw table seated after us get food much earlier), and zero check ins during the wait for refills or updates on food.
When our food arrived our waitress offered to refill our water and tea that had been empty for quite a while. The burgers were over-cooked, there were about 15 fries on each plate, and the Jalapeno burger didn't come with the sauce or bacon. We asked our waitress about the missing items on the burger and she said 'ok' and then walked away, and then came back and said, "what's the problem again?" And took his plate and returned with bacon and sauce on one of the buns after about 5 minutes. No apologies.
After the burgers and fries were almost finished at our table the waitress offered to bring additional fries, and she returned in another 5 minutes with a large bowl of fries to share which was nice, but it would have been better to have during the 40-minute wait for the sub-par burgers. The fries were hot and crispy, probably the best part of the meal.
When the check arrived I should have asked more questions, including why we received a $4.50 charge for tea when supposedly the promotion is a free drink and bottomless fries for every burger. The burger that was made incorrectly was also not discounted and cost over $12.
Please don't go here. Save yourself time, money, hunger, and anger and go to Sylvesters, or Habit, or Eureka, or Carl's Jr, or even McDonalds would be a...
Read moreI am a lower limb amputee and have a service dog. This morning I came in and sat down at a table. The server immediately came over and wanted to know if my dog was a service dog. I told him yes. (My dog is in a service dog vest with ID in him), he then began asking more questions that he is not allowed to ask by ADA Law. He then told me if my dog could be seen I would have to leave. This is not true acording to the ADA the only reason you can ask a service dog to leave is if it is misbehaving and out of control. The tip of my dog’s tail was not under the table. My dog was in a down stay and was not moving. I tried to explain that my dog was not doing anything to warrant making us leave. I stated that I would like to place my order. He continued to tell me he could not take my order because my dog’s tail could be seen out from under the table. I then informed him that I would file a complaint as he continued to harass me. I asked for a manager to speak with and was told that there was no manager there. I did finally get to place an order but the server continued to come to my table and harass me, even after I asked him to stop and leave me alone. This was absolutely the worst treatment I have ever had in a restaurant. I was not allowed to eat my meal in peace. For the record, my dog never moved or got out from under the table. He isn’t a fake service dog, he is my balance ability and much needed. Shame on I-Hop...
