Short little trail that runs along the side of the river closest to the road. At one spot there was a sign on the other side that read "no trespassing". However there were to people posted up underneath it hunting for rocks, I never tried to get over there to that side because it was not as maintained as the park side. Lots of shade trees over the little chill spots that had been established (which were all occupied. So we just hung out travel hammocks in branches that were over hanging the water and dangled my feet in the river. Turned out to be probably the coolest spot in my opinion. Parking had two handicap and maybe 10 regular shmegular spots. I had to find a spot in the apartments...
Read moreBe on the look out for a peeping Tom, was seen today 04/09/2022 at around 11:48 am. He was underneath the bridge on the closes off side of the park. Straight cut hair cut, "average" build, skin color was tanned, standing around between 5'6" or 5'10. Look for the student housing side, or the closed off area of the creek. Stay safe and keep an eye out.
I have been coming to Stokes Park since 10/04/2022 and I've never encountered anyone that is this atrocious. This park should be a save place. Please be on the lookout, especially along the underpass of the bridge on the most southern side...
Read moreWe've always loved this spot, but when we visited today we found that it is closed until further notice - probably for riverbank restoration due to the damage from the new adjacent apartment complex and subsequent flooding. The tiny parking area is closed, too. Looking forward to a safer water entry with improved parking, more picnic area, restrooms, and less mud/sediment in our river from people climbing/sliding...
