William & Eleanor Crook Park — Attraction in San Marcos

Absolutely love this park and river area. My family and I have been coming here for a few years, to enjoy the River access and relax for the day. We have brought our kids and dogs who have enjoyed playing in the water. We’ve never had issues parking. Lately though, the last two times we have been here, the bathrooms have been disgusting. The men’s restroom was closed today and it had also been closed the previous time we were here (summer of 2020 before lock down). That only leaves two stalls to use in the Girls restroom and people leave it so dirty. It seems like they don’t maintenance the restrooms often. It’s too bad because the park and river are beautiful. I hope the restrooms are maintained...

The San Marcos river is an awesome free place For families. There is river access both shallow and deep water. Tubing access and small rapids to ride. There is also a small island that is connected by a bridge that people use to jump in the water. There is plenty of space for everyone! And there are also restrooms, picnic tables and a pool area (pay) for those that prefer a pool experience.. just careful with those rocks in...
