Wingate By Wyndham — Hotel in San Marcos

Our stay at the Wyndham Hotel in San Marcos was lovely! A HUGE thank you to the staff! We booked two rooms side by side, and everything went smoothly. The beds were super comfortable (the pillows could use a little upgrade, but no biggie). The rooms were clean, spacious, and came with plenty of towels—which we appreciated.

We loved that each room had a mini fridge and microwave. We used both! There was also a TV, so we ended our nights watching movies as a family. Yes, there was a little noise from the AC, but it wasn’t a major issue at all.

Breakfast was amazing. We definitely took full advantage of it both mornings—waffles, eggs, sausage—everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. They even have a little shop next to the front desk where we grabbed waters, candy, sodas, and other snacks during our stay.

We didn’t get to use the pool this time, but it looked great and we’ll definitely check it out next time we’re in town. Also, having a Dutch Bros right next door was a total bonus! We walked over late at night for some sweet treats—such a fun perk.

We were in town for the state baseball championship, and this hotel’s location was 10 out of 10. Restaurants, shopping, and Walmart were all within minutes. It was super convenient, especially with a group. Parking was never an issue—we always found a spot. They also have laundry facilities on-site, which is a huge plus for longer stays.

There are other hotel options in the area, but many are pricier. For us, this was the perfect fit. Great customer service, a great stay, and we will definitely book here again if we’re ever back in San Marcos. Highly...

We came to San Marcos as a group of 6 in December of 2022 and needed a place to stay. After reading terrible reviews for other hotels nearby we settled on the Wingate, and man am I glad we did! The staff was extremely friendly from pre-trip calls to booking and as well on our check in day. They ran us through everything we needed to know and were very accommodating for our group. They got us rooms right next to each other during the busy season and all the rooms were spotless. How spotless may you ask? Being somewhat of a germophobe and after seeing some negative reviews I brought multiple wavelengths of black light and scanned all the rooms ceiling to floor looking for displeasing unmentionables. Needless to say I found nothing and the rooms were clean in their entirety... Even the toilet and showers! Breakfast at the hotel was typical, variety wasn't the greatest but the quality better than some hotels and served later than some I've stayed at. My only chief complaint and the shared complaint amongst my group was inadequate A/C. I'm not one to blast A/C but even for me my room was definitely warm. Temp settings didn't matter on the ac and it left me slightly more uncomfortable than I'd have liked....still...better than other hotels I've been at though. All in all I found nothing worth knocking stars off for and our group has already agreed on pre-booking this same hotel next December for business. This property is located just off of I-35 North. It is within walking distance to several restaurants. Access to I-35 and local attractions is easy. When we arrived, Jordan was very helpful. He set us up with our room very quickly and efficiently. He was very nice and respectful to everyone in line and made sure we all felt welcome. After checking in, I asked him about local restaurants. He knew of several different types of restaurants. That information came in handy since we were staying for several days. Each choice was spot on. Great food and atmosphere every time. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Everyone else on the staff was doing a great job of making sure that our stay went well. The breakfast was hot and delicious, and we never had to wait for items to be restocked. The pool area was kept clean and the towels were always stocked. At checkout time, Elizabeth was sincere in asking if we enjoyed our stay. She offered to print out our receipt and even reminded me of my upcoming rewards. She also took time to make sure everyone she spoke to was happy and treated with respect. I highly recommend the Wingate...
