Went to eat dinner 4-5-23 to celebrate my grand daughter. Our party 5 adults 3 children. Got seated around 8pm but waited over an hour for our food! We had to track down server and they apparently didn't know what happened to our order and she brought out manager. Manager asked what could she do, both I and my daughter pleaded that they bring the kids their food first at least. Corn dog shouldn't take as long as boneless wing plates. She offered to comp ONLY our appetizer and offered us to buy more appetizers until our food could be remade. We are all exhausted, hungry, and in no mood to "buy" or eat more appetizers. Kids have school next day and we all have to work. And honestly comp our appetizer was no real compensation for waiting so long for their mistake! We finally get our food all at once instead of kids first. Baby that is almost 2 years old chokes on food cause she's so hungry she is eating too fast! Food tastes and looks great as always but came way too late that I took a few bites and felt physically sick all the way home which is not in San Marcos. To top it all off server had us wait even longer for Manager to ring our bill up. We had to track both of them down at their employee entrance to get our bill to pay and get out! My receipt shows almost 10pm. And to top it all off, the next day after i felt physically a little better I look at my bill closer and noticed I was overcharged a plate $18.50!! I did not go back cause I live 30 miles away from San Marcos and I didn't want to go thru the stress of dealing with that Manager again! I'm very disappointed cause their food is great but that day was the worst and to get overcharged was even more disappointing. Hope you can train your servers and managing staff better cause this was very unacceptable.
4-17-23 Update gave contact info for GM, was contacted today to discuss this issue and was told that at Management meeting it will be discussed on how to better handle scenarios like mine. Good luck Pluckers cause I see my incident is a common complaint in last few months for this location. Food is great but service needs to be also all the way to Management so people will want to go back. I appreciate the call back and plan for...
Read moreMy kid tells me he is craving Pluckers for dinner. No problem, I get on their app, place the order. It tells me 35 minutes. I figure it is going to take me at least that long to get there with the 5 o'clock Friday evening traffic. I decide I should get some gas, as the food is never on time. I pull into the back of the restaurant. You have to go to the front of the place to go in. I would strongly advise them to have a separate location for To Go orders, as when you walk in it is a zoo. I go tell the, I am here for my order. The guy disappears and tells me, "It is being made now and they need 10 more minutes." I figure, no problem. I know it is a Friday night and they are busy. I walk over the gas station to get drinks to kill some time. I put the drinks in the car and walk back to the front of the store. After being ignored for a little bit, I ask about my food. "Hey, I am here for a to go order and they told me 10 minutes more and here it is almost 30 minutes after the fact." The woman disappears for a few minutes and comes back a few minutes later with my order in hand. I snake my way through the building and go out the back door, where I had parked. The estimate wait time for your order, is a lie. It was more than a hour after the fact.
We get home and the fried pickles were good. The kids chicken bites were small pieces of cut up chicken, fried and tossed in whatever sauce you ask them to. The bites were almost an insult as they were probably the size of a fingernail. The wing meal was good and flavorful.
I would strongly advise them to get a whole different system for to go orders and have dedicated employees just working that. The lobby was a zoo. There needs to be a better handling of customer traffic. I am not sure what is up with the ordering system; but, it is going to be 3 times of the length of whatever the computer tells you when you food Is going to be ready. The only saving grace was the food. While it was "ok", I expected a tad bit better quality, especially if I am going to be spending $50+ on an adult meal, an appetizer and a kids meal...
Read moreRecently this Pluckers service has not been up to standards. As soon as we were seated, we ordered our appetizers and food all at the same time. As others came and got seated we began to notice them receiving their appetizers before we have even though we had ordered much before them. I pushed this off since I understand it was busy but after the tables next to us were all being addressed by our server and she continuously seemed to avoid us, It seemed like a bigger issue. When we had been able to call her over she had seemed confused that our food was not there yet, although we made eye contact several times before. She seemed confused that someone else was not doing her job and when we would ask her for something she seemed to be physically annoyed. It was very unprofessional for her to soon after be talking with another server right next to our table complaining about a $2 tip and talking bad of the customers. Once we had gotten our food we still had not received one of our appetizers so we decided to just cancel that order. Later on the night we split the check and my friends bill was $9, we assumed she felt bad and took an order off since it was so cheap. Only for her to come back and say the card didn’t go through and now the order was $40, although my friends $9 did go through on her card. When we finally were able to get her to come to our table again and asked for the receipt she only gave us 3 when we had now had 4 transactions. the $9 was not on any of these. It may have been little things adding up but the service we had was horrible. She seemed confused that someone else was not doing her job and then would complain about customers in front of others. I had ordered a togo order and waited 30 minutes until she figured we were staring at her for a reason and she was confused why I didn’t had them yet. I’m not sure if it’s a change of management that’s happened lately. But this establishment has been declining. I do not recommend Ashley B. as...
