Love the discovery center, I go several times a year for various weekend events like the spring and fall native plant sales, ssssnakefest, etc... The volunteers, master naturalists, students, and educators are always so fantastic & happy to be there. If you have younger kids and want them to experience a bit of the outdoors, they do educational nature walks at various events, and there are always LOTs of nature themed kid activities and crafts.

We went to the annual Monarch Fest/Native Plant Sale last weekend. It was crazy busy, but found some great perennials to get my landscaping started. The amount of educational materials at the center along with knowledgeable volunteers taught me some tips&tricks for lawn/garden for my first year in TX. Will go back to check out more on a non-event day.

The information center was very helpful. Person at informational center was so helpful In providing the information about San Marcos and places to visit in San Marcos. She gave the kids coloring books and materials so that they are Enga he for around 30 mins when we stopped there. It was really very good experience.

The discovery center is amazing. The center has a plant sale every year. Great selection of plants. The prices are very reasonable. I believe it is twice a year, spring and fall. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I believe there is activities through out the year as well. The place is worth checking out for you...
