Loved this little lake. My first time visiting with family. Perfect for a small group with kids. Grass area to set up a picnic and sand area to set up for a play day at the water. Water temperature was great, not cold like other lakes. Beautiful view. The lake was not deep, so I loved it because my son and nieces could play in the water w out going to far in the deep end. Tables and grills were not available because of the corona virus but the grass area was great to set up blankets and sit under the trees that provided shade. Weather was great. We ended up spending 10 hrs there. Will definitely visit again...
Read moreCame here for the first time this week and returned a few days later. Even though I live in San Francisco, I don't mind driving here to enjoy the serene, clean trails and views. Took a run along the shoreline and took advantage of the staircase to get some extra cardio in. Views are beautiful. Parking is ample. Bathrooms are decent. However, aside from this not-so-minor issue, it really is wonderful: there is a small grassy patch, a nice sandy beach, some play structures for the kids, and a boat / kayak launch.
Mostly importantly, the water is actually WARM ENOUGH to swim in. This is the only natural place that I know of in the Bay Area where I can swim in the water without a wetsuit. I have more fun here with my kids (5 & 8) than anywhere else I can think that we've ever...
