SERVICE & CHECKIN I like the property manager here; swift, personable, & respectful. No egregious fee for early checkin Uncovered parking is conveniently located at front of the property. LOBBY & TRANSITIONS The lobby was immaculate; more business-cozy than flashy. Very functional with comfortable seating. The grounds were well-maintained & nice to walk around. There are a few recreational courts too along the path to your room. ROOM https://youtu.be/yIJDGYNyOvo Great dimensions, stock, & design. On par with a newer studio apartment in the Bay areas. Cleaning standards were high & the aroma entering the unit was nice. There's plenty of natural light that enters via the faux balcony. All the makings for a cozy, productive, & relaxing extended stay for 2-3 people. TV & ENTERTAINMENT The dreaded super-glued-dresser-tv-stand. I really wish Marriott would do away with these or rethink the experience. Rotating an entire dresser or forcing limited viewing angles is over the top & tacky. Otherwise it's just your typical Marriott TV solution. BED We slept very good here. Linens were clean, the mattress had sufficient firmness, & the pillows were supportive. No complaints. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION Gravely underwhelming.... possibly the worst of 2024. NOT ideal for remote work, streaming, multi tasking or multiple devices. Please invest in better networking. --Performance-- Video streaming - bad Online gaming - bad Video chatting - bad --Nerd Stats-- 7-10 Mbps download 7-13 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 55 8 ms latency 40.7 ms jitter BATHROOM A medium-small split bath within earshot of the bed. Cleaning standards were good, the shower experience was favorable, & the vanity was a delight. The layout is just "too" quirky & it can be a challenge if sharing the space with a light sleeper. FOOD DoorDash friendly. As a nomad, it's nice having a full kitchen amenity to cook a healthy meal now & again. All dining ware + appliances were clean & in excellent condition. ⚠️The birds/wildlife are aggressive here so do not leave deliveries outside for long periods of time-- they will peck at them!⚠️ LOCATION & NOISE A quaint community vibe reminiscent of a prefab apartment complex. The winding roads to reach this place are such a chore (you'll see what I mean...). The walls & construction materials are really thin so pray for quiet neighbors. VERDICT A competitive property with cozy accommodations & friendly staff. Its biggest drawbacks are the unconventional room layouts & the dismal WiFi infrastructure. Plan to tether or disconnect entirely for any internet work. I wouldn't stay here again until the wireless is massively improved but it's a fair recommendation. 4/5⭐️

During my recent office visit, I had the opportunity to stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott San Francisco Airport/San Mateo. Overall, it was a decent experience that met my expectations. The hotel's location near the airport was convenient for my business trip, allowing for easy access to both the airport and my office. The complimentary shuttle service was a welcome perk, ensuring seamless transportation throughout my stay. Upon arrival, the staff provided a friendly and efficient check-in process, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. The suite I stayed in was spacious and well-maintained, offering a comfortable living area and a fully equipped kitchenette. The room provided a decent level of comfort and functionality, allowing me to work and relax during my stay. The hotel amenities were satisfactory, including a fitness center and a complimentary breakfast buffet. While the breakfast options were decent, I felt that there could have been a greater variety of choices. Nonetheless, it served as a convenient start to the day. Overall, my experience at the Residence Inn by Marriott San Francisco Airport/San Mateo was pleasant and suited my needs for a business trip. I would consider staying here again in the future.

Loved the full kitchen. we cooked more than went out and was nice to have the amenities there. If we didn't have something, the desk had it. Our dishwasher did over fill while the room was being cleaned and had leaked when we came back, maintenance was there in 30 min cleaned it up and fixed the issue, didn't have another problem. My absolute favorite was being able to open the windows have the breeze, in and most places they don't let you open them all the way so it was a bonus to me. We stayed for a week. Also if you write a grocery list out they go shop for you at no extra charge!! FYI if you like Sushi, MJ sushi is very yummy!!!

There are many reasons why this property has a "Wonderful" rating on Expedia. To start, it's a great value given the amenities and price point. The rooms are very spacious and quite comfortable, set up like a studio apartment with a full-sized kitchen that is fully outfitted with everything you will need to cook at "home" during your stay. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher and a large microwave. All quality appliances!

The bed and bedding are super comfortable and these units have central air and heat which is much more functional than window units imo. For families and groups, there are loft units available upstairs. And of course, don't forget the gorgeous, centrally located pool and outdoor BBQ's!

Location-wise this property is perfectly situated close driving distance from SFO, South San Francisco and San Francisco proper as well as being a relatively short drive to Oakland, Berkeley and the surrounding cities. Parking is plentiful and the property is located near the main thoroughfares of the bucolic waterways of San Mateo as well as very close to the freeway. Of course like most big cities and their suburbs, traffic can be an issue but with careful planning on off-peak hours you'll be fine. It is also close to the CalTrain station if you prefer taking public transportation to the City. If you're adverse to driving and parking in the City, you can always park at a BART station near San Francisco and partake in the comprehensive public transportation system which is always an adventure in itself.

Nearby the property you'll find a large Safeway for all your grocery needs as well as Target and numerous other box stores as well as a plethora of dining choices from fast food to fine dining. You will however need a car if you don't want to opt for public transportation or travel to locales outside of the Bay Area proper like Muir Woods (highly recommend!). To me this is a great value as if you stay in the City hotels are generally expensive with small rooms, parking is usurious and most accommodations don't have a full kitchen (or even a microwave let alone a full sized refrigerator).

Back at the property you will find the perfect free breakfast set-up to start your day with a sumptuous, filling and fairly diverse selection of breakfast foods and drinks. Definitely a cut well above danishes wrapped in plastic and stale truck stop style coffee! Speaking of coffee, aside from the coffee provided in your room there is fresh hot coffee on tap available at breakfast and all day in the warm and inviting lobby. Caffeine addicts will not be disappointed!

Saving the best for last, the staff. From the manager Kurtis to every person you encounter that works here you will get nothing but friendly, top notch service. They simply do it right and really go above and beyond to take care of their guests to make sure their stay is as comfortable and worry free as possible.

Taken all together, these are the reasons I love staying at this property when I am in the Bay Area. I am coming up on my third stay here in three months and am totally confident that I will once again have a wonderful stay in very comfortable accommodations with an outstanding staff across the board!

Finally, having the Bonvoy App is awesome! Locked your key card in the room? No need to go to the front desk, you can unlock your door from your phone as well as do a ton of other things...
