During my husband's prolonged illness, we met with Bart Casey several times. Each time, we came away impressed with his professionalism, kindness, and ability to gently present the "facts of death." After Ken's final moments, at home, Bart and Kate, and Celeste our hospice nurse, encouraged me to take all the time I needed to say goodbye. During the next week, Audrey helped me organize a beautiful bulletin for his service. Her attention to detail and skill were so appreciated. Bart offered opportunities for me to be with Ken's body -- something I had not anticipated doing -- but turned out to be powerful and extraordinarily helpful. It is such a comfort to me, now seven months later, that Bart made it possible for us to change Ken’s clothes into something special. I covered him with a family blanket. The grandkids and I placed mementos of Ken’s rich life in the casket. At the church, and at the graveside, Jerad and Kate were just so skilled at what they do. Everything went smoothly, because they had everything set up, and knew exactly how to proceed. They unobtrusively, even with some shared humor, guided Ken’s pallbearers and family through a difficult day. Bart and Audrey helped me publish Ken’s obituary, took care of death certificates, notified social security, etc. Our entire family will always be grateful for Lakeview...
Read moreMy dad had been ill for several years and as the end approached we reached out to several funeral homes looking for information on how to get a head start on the process. The decision was made as soon as we met with Bart (the funeral director). He laid everything out in a very kind and non pushy way. Pricing was clear, and just a little more than the competition. And, even though we set up most of the decisions before my dad's passing there were still some last minute details to deal with. Lakeview was very prompt and most everything was very smooth.
The ceremony was out of town with the interment at a local very small cemetery. They took care of every detail in the background that they could with the staff being responsive and respectful to the end. Funny, but even my neighbor notice how smooth the driver was.
Each of us are only in this world for a little while, and it is a comfort have Lakeview when...
Read moreWe have experienced several deaths in our family recently. The year 2012 has been a very hard year to endure. On November 27th 2012, I lost my husband to a heart attack. Bart Casey, the owner was like an Angel sent from heaven. He was so kind, gentle, patient and understanding. Never a sense of pressure and let me ask questions of my own need. His kind and gentle demeanor was exactly what I needed to help me through one of the most difficult periods in my life. I recently lost my mother. We had to deal with a funeral home in Las Vegas Nevada. They were not attentive, nor were they consoling. I felt like we were in a production line. And money was the object and my mother was just another person to cremate. Bart makes you feel like you were the only one to suffer a loss. We need more people like him and his business in this world. Thank you Bart for the love, patience and...
