Sandpoint Chocolate Company — Restaurant in Sandpoint

Oddly, I could not find this great shop on Yelp, but glad we could at least find it on Google. Speaking of which, we would not have found this place at all if weren't for doing a web search. We searched for ice cream which led us here. It turned out it was a chocolate shop that makes their own chocolate right on site! I asked if they to do wholesale and they said they do, which must be how they survive as they certainly don't count on foot traffic. However, when we arrived, we thought it looked so cool! Has a very fun vibe to it, with a nice seating area next to it. Once inside the first thing we saw was all the chocolate in front of us. We went a bit crazy as it all looked delicious. We ordered one of like six or seven different kinds. I am happy to report, after trying all seven of them, that each one was absolutely delicious! Must come here more often when craving for a chocolate fix. However, we came here for ice cream. So that's what we ordered next. We each chose the waffle cone, which was a bit on the sweet side (the waffle cones at the ice cream shop in Leavenworth, WA are the golden standard), but the ice cream did the job. It was yummy and creamy. We ate the chocolates over the next couple days. They show a coffee menu with a paper announcing, "coming soon" over the menu. Can't wait for that for start as it would cut through the overly sweet waffle cone. :-) Anyway, I hope more people find this treasure in a hard to find spot, as I wish Sandpoint Chocolate Company all the...

The ice cream bears pressure to any grocery store that would make them cave as it is exceptional.

However clearly what they are selling is a little known piece of Idaho culture... I say little known with a bit of emphasis for it seems that the ways of the truffle have unfortunately become lesser known. However it embodies the integrity of the locals' higher culture as Idaho's very own Other-Tuber. Velvety smooth, deep and rich, and sold at weight which is such a good value. So many flavors and approaches it will entertain you for hours if your were simply trying to find your favorite.

Finally stopped in and got some truffles, a mocha and ice cream. Lots of fin flavors, the chocolate bar prices are very reasonable. Bonus that the owner and chocolatier himself served up our sweets. They offer free toppings on rhe ice cream, which is rad, and had all natural rainbow sprinkles! If you like chocolate, or ice cream, or coffee, definitely give this place a visit.
