McDermott Glass Studio — Attraction in Sandwich

Stopped in here with my mother-in-law who has supplied this studio with their batch in the past. Didn't get to tour the studio as we were short on time, but I did get to meet David Mc Dermott, owner, and his crew and watch them all work for a few minutes. Flawless teamwork with rapid results and exquisite pieces. David explained that they work on an "8 hands 1 mind" philosophy, and it was blatantly obvious and impressive to see. Really exquisite work. David McDermott was super fun to talk with and clearly loves his work. We got to see the workshop and David demonstrate his mastery with a beautiful example piece. We will be on the look out for work from him and his wife the next time we go to the Art Institute of Chicago.
