I am giving this 5 stars because the food is freaking great. The produce is outstanding. The meat is awesome...truly awesome. The beef tenderloin is as good as I can find anywhere around here. It's way better than sending away to Omaha steaks for their tenderloin. I only buy it for an occassion as it breaks my budget, but man .....it is memorably good. Please Google how to cook it, so that you get the perfect steak.....my friend wasn't thrilled with it and argued with me about the quality of the meat (by the way...my family owns a cattle ranch out west, so I really know good beef!!!!!!) Well, she cooked it the way she cooks burgers... omg..... so...I cooked one night for my friend, who now understands exactly what I meant about this awesome tenderloin. I use equal parts butter and olive oil mixed. The olive oil raises the smoke temperature and the butter is there for the flavor. Dont forget, this is an extremely lean cut of meat and you need fat to cook it. This is not a meal to mess around with cutting down butter, salt, etc. Its too expensive not to do it right. Use a black iron skillet....screaming hot...salt and pepper and sear both sides of the steak....cook a minute one each side to seal it, lightly brown it...then pop the skillet onto a PREHEATED 375 oven (Must be preheated for at least 10 to 15 minutes) put the pan in for 12 minutes.....then take it out and immediately flip the steak over in the pan and cover it with foil for another 12 minutes. Do not ever use a fork on it or it will leak all the moisture out of the steak and you will end up with leathery dry garbage. Use an egg flipper to turn it. It needs carryover cooking time and resting time. Be patient, dont mess with it. Don't poke at it. Don't even look at it. When time... Then serve it. I slice it and lay the slices over veggies....that way I can stretch two steaks to feed 3 or even 4 people. Depending on the size. Or, you can fan out the slices on a serving plate. You can give the outside slices to people who want medium and the center will be medium rare. If you want well done don't waste your money on tenderloin it's not something that should ever be served well. It's too lean. It will not be good. Those times will give you medium to medium rare for 2 inch thick steaks.(If you can't measure well, a quarter is exactly one inch. So two quarters is the right thickness.) Anyway, their seafood rocks ! It is always varied, plentiful and oh so fresh !!!!!! I saw the reviews where others raked this store...and I won't argue when it comes to staff...thet are really scraping bottom of the barrel. No one gives a rat's butt. No one wants to help you except for those at the deli and seafood counters. Everyone else turns and walks away...thet are as rude and obnoxious and self important as it can possibly get. They use cell phones...they ignore customers....I would bet if you collapsed in front of any of them, they would step over you, and leave you to expire. That said, as long as you can find your own way around and find the products on your own..you don't need them anyways. Don't miss out on great produce and seafood and meat because their customer service is worse than a joke, because then the jerks win, and the joke is on us. Try a tenderloin steak. Although you will dream about it forever...
Read morehas ok service had a problem there once but generally very good. got great products avaluable a little small though for such a big branch but still big enougth to suport the area. needs to redesighn the parking lot its a bit of a bad set up hard to park if you have a biger truck so its unavaluable for most truckers if they were to go there (im not a trucker but i like to think of everyone so though i might mention). found an expired product once but they got rid of it right away so make sure u check expiration dates(its common for employees to over look it some times as there is just so many merchandise to keep tract of) they got many diferet brands for the same products and in diferent sections so give it a walk arround before you maje your final decisions the stop and shop private brands are just as good as the other brands so you can buy from them with confidence that you are getting great quality food that much i can...
Read moreEmployees are always very friendly. I am a local and only shop here if necessary and only if I need just a fee items. It is very overpriced. I went in for strawberries yesterday morning and they had none. The whole fruit section was rather bare. Except the almost $10 whole watermelons. I was floored by that price. I really wish the prices were more reasonable as it is a mile from my home. Instead we shop at Market Basket and BJ’s. When I do have to come here, I always use the online clip coupons on the app to help a little.
I think this store panders more to the summer Peters Park folks who don’t know any better and pay the prices. Also, there is always only 1 register open so it forces everyone to use the self checkout. Which means the lines for that are always ridiculously long. Open...
