Happy Tails Self-Serve Dog Wash — Local services in Sandwich

This place was an awesome find for us! My Great Dane mix developed a hot spot and I figured I’d give him a good wash as it’s been a while. He is skittish, and large. The employee who helped us, Maddie, is wonderful. She is so cheery, helpful, and informative. She got us all set up with everything we needed. She was so kind and didn’t mind the mess my dog was making as he shook the soap around. After washing my Great Dane mix I returned later in the morning with my lab. Maddie was so helpful, we bought some hot spot product and my lab successfully was washed. Employees like Maddie seem hard to come by (especially in todays day and age). There are two parts to this place.

The self-service part IS wonderful. They do give you everything you need at a good price. 5 stars for that.

The grooming business. ZERO stars. We took our OES in recently and the results were laughable. I would expect to see a certificate on the wall from the Stevie Wonder School of Grooming. He looked like they put him in a wood chipper. I had to tell people he was on chemotherapy to explain the results.

These are VERY nice people. But they stink at grooming a challenging breed like our sheep dog.

I brought my dog there today for a groom. The staff was great! I was a little concerned about how my dog would react seeing as this was the first time I have dropped him off for grooming. They made me feel very comfortable about leaving him and told me to not worry about his crying. He's a bit of a baby. I came back about two hours later to him looking and smelling wonderful. They got his coat so soft! When I walked in, he was laying on the floor waiting for me and I could tell immediately that he was very comfortable with his surroundings. I will absolutely be...
