I would give OC ramps 4 and 3/4 stars, unfortunately google only allows 4 or 5. It wasn't perfect but OC was good with responding to questions and price was good for wood, screws, coping, delivery, etc.

I purchased the 8' wide ramp with 2 ply and skate paint, it was delivered in maybe 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately the truck they delivered it on did not have a large enough lift and we had to unpack the majority of the wood to make it light enough for the lift. This is not OC fault but the delivery company. All items purchased were packed on 1 8' crate.

Once I had the ramp I leveled out my back yard with $1 pavers I bought from Home Depot to the best of my ability. This is much more difficult than you'd imagine. It took a total of 20 pavers and probably a full day.

Once the floor was level-ish I started building. I immediately realized you need a compact driver and a normal drill is not strong enough to drive the screws through the wood. No problem I have a compact driver but only 1 so it's going to take a little longer. Don't recall if this is mentioned in the build instructions. Their build instructions seem uniform for all their ramp types so measurements might be off.

Once I got the skeleton of ramps and flat built I noticed the flat was slightly wider than the ramps, not by much maybe half an inch. Oh well nothings perfect. I screwed them together with a little hanging out on either side.

Now I started adding the first ply, 1 and 2 went on perfect but 3 and 4 were too long to fit together in the flat. Good thing I have a circular saw. I cut maybe half an inch off of ply 3 and fit them in the flat as best I could. I also found that the pre drilled holes did not align perfectly in flat so I had to make a few of my own. This incorrect measurements were just in the flat and the ramps were fine.

The second ply went on with the same incorrect measurements so I had to cut a half inch off both of the ply's on the flat and make new holes.

My ramp is actually not the measurements quoted on their page, it's actually 3'5" high, 7'10" wide and 22'5" long. I assume the wood has some give and bends and shrinks when adding screws?¯(ツ)/¯

With the 2 extra pieces of wood left to place the 2nd ply I made a support beam for the deck with the 2x4 and a make sift latter with the 2x3.

I stained the ramp with half quart of walnut gel stain (works good on transition, plus I already had it in my garage) and painted the outside black with 1 and a half quarts of flat black exterior latex paint. I then painted the whole ramp with skate paint, it took about 3/4 of the gallon and about 36 hours to fully dry.

With a little adjustments the end result...

I would like to share my experience and review about my roll on flat rail purchase. I first called to ask questions about the rail and the girl did not know what kind of metal it was made out of and if there was a weight capacity and whats the return period policy or if there was any kind of warranty if I had issues. There was only 2 left in stock so I asked if they would be going on sale soon or if they were going to discontinue this rail. The only thing she could answer is that the last 2 rails are grey and the new ones would be yellow and there would be no sale soon. So I bought it because grey looks more like metal than bright yellow and I wanted it in time for a Christmas gift. Well the rail arrived and the metal flat base platform is bent and I cannot bend it back straight no matter how hard I try with another person. For $360 I wanted it to be perfect and it was shipped with Saran Wrap on it so it arrived damaged. It wobbles and it slides to the side because of it. I wish it was packaged better with reinforcement to the base or in some kind of box. Now if I were to return it. It would definitely be a hassle I can't just load it into a car. The refund would less than my $360. They would deduct about $60 for their Free shipping fee, and on top of that I would have to pay the post office $100 to send it back so now i'm better off keeping it. I wish she would have gave me the option to buy the new yellow bump rail which comes apart in 4 pieces and they actually send it in a box and did I mention its on sale for $309? The funny thing is when I got this rail it came with a brochure from OC Ramps and they list it for $269. So there is no actual free shipping and I wish she would of let me know about the yellow rail because that would of been a great idea and it probably wouldn't arrived damaged. But she's a sales person and probably doesn't even skate, just saying anything she wants to make a sale. It would of been nice to get the other rail or the option. So now I glued rubber pieces on the bottom of the rail to try stabilize it better. And I get a free T-shirt and stickers for leaving a honest review, Thank...

My (12 year old) son got his first skateboard at Christmas and wanted to build a quarter pipe ramp that he could use when he couldn't go to the local skate park. Small problem... I have ZERO idea how to build one and the YouTube videos I looked at made it look like I'd spend all weekend building it only to botch it. Also, because of HOA concerns, needed to build something portable enough that my 2 youngest boys (12 and 10 years of age) could pull in and out of garage.

So, after scouring the Internet, I decided on OC Ramps 3 foot wide quarter pipe ramp. It arrived in less than a week from CA to Virginia. I set aside the entire morning to build it. But, was pleasantly surprised it only took us about 45 minutes total and they started skating on it right away (before we added the skate paint because they couldn't wait). It was super easy and directions were clear. Parts were precut and pre drilled. Building it together with my boys was a fun father/son activity. We did put on the "skate paint" as well... which is like a marine grade varnish and is awesome (I'd recommend waiting to apply when temperature is above 60 degrees).

Truly can't say enough positive things about this ramp. It was our first effort at something like this and was fun time with my boys. Build and material quality was excellent and the size was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Boys are already saving their money to...
