It’s a family owned motel and so there’s no one to talk to about how they choose to be with guests. They sold me a room that didn’t have hot water and said that it will have hot water at all times and they just have to turn it on once a day. They gave me a discount because they would have to go in my room once a day. I mentioned that hot water is incredibly important to me and I don’t want to buy the room if it’s not going to be there. They said that’s not a problem at all, we just have to turn it on once a day. The next morning, when the water was ice cold, I called the Front office and they became offensive and laughed and said you were aware of this. This made me upset and I decided to call at a later time to speak to someone else. She was offensive from the very first moment and said it was my mom who you talk to this morning and also we wouldn’t want to guess like you hear. Later when I try to talk to the manager, he basically said that my communication skills aren’t great because I got upset with his mom. I got Upset only after seeing how they’re choosing to handle the matter and lying about the room.
Also, there might be a mold issue as sections of the room in the corners were a darker color wood and looked like water damage and the room smelled very damp. Every interaction I’ve had with them ended up with them feeling offended Or hanging up the phone.
I asked other people if they know of the motel, they said that they do and the interactions were the same, and they tried to bribe them not to write a bad review. Please don’t put yourself in a situation where then you have to leave because it doesn’t feel...
Read moreMy fiance and I stayed at Harbor House Inn for the very first time and it was absolutely magical! The moment we checked in with Paul we were welcomed with his calming presence and magic via Cody! Both gentlemen were absolutely amazing. Paul was very easy going and Cody, whom I corresponded with via email, made our trip that much more magical.Harbor House Inn is clean and quaint. It's not quite a hotel, nor is it a motel. It's more like a cottage. :) However, they have the same amenities as a hotel! When we walked into the king unit which had a fireplace and kitchen, I was absolutely blown away by how cute it was! I exclaimed to my fiance, "I could actually live here!" LOLThe place was immaculate and buzzing with positive energy. The linens and towels are high quality too. I fell absolutely in love with the place and wished we had booked 2 nights instead of 1. The place is delightful and romantic. 💕 (On a side note, if you're a light sleeper or enjoy sleeping in, make sure to bring earplugs because the crows may wake you up around 7AM with their morning "talk." :) We brought earplugs).Besides Harbor House Inn being absolutely wonderful, it is also only a hop, skip and a jump to the beach, and an easy 14 minute stroll to State Street's action. We cannot wait to return and stay longer! Thank you to everyone who contributes to the beauty, cleanliness, hospitality and good vibes of this place. Thank you to the owners who know what it's all about. I can't wait...
Read moreI love this place. We originally stayed two years ago and were blown away by the space, location and the service so we came back again this year. The rooms are fantastic..more like one bedroom apartments, with everything you could want supplied including a very generous welcome basket of food and snacks (the homemade banana and walnut loaf is beautiful). Since our first visit, management have made even more improvements, with large smart TVs in each room. The TVs have Netflix preloaded so if you do want to watch TV, you are spoilt for choice.
I cannot fault the accommodation here, it's clean, well furnished and styled and there is parking and outside seating with each room. The kitchens have everything you could want, including cartons of milk as opposed to sachets of whitener, and a cannister of ground coffee instead of a couple of coffee bags. It all helps give an overall feeling that nothing is too much trouble. Staff are consistently awesome, and whenever you visit reception you get a cheerful and very comprehensive service, including great local tips and recommendations. When you stay at harbour house, you can use the bikes, beach towels and beach chairs stored in the garage which is a huge benefit. Cycling to the centre of town is easy and a great way to see the gorgeous coast, pier and shopping centre of Santa Barbara.
I will definitely be back to harbour house inn, it's a brilliant place to stay with a fantastic team of...
