BEDBUGS!! This will be long but READ. My husband and I booked for a whole week for our honeymoon. We of course checked the bed like we would any hotel/motel but didn’t see anything. The first night we slept there, I woke up in the middle of the night with a very swollen lip but wasn’t sure why. In the morning I noticed there were bites on my lips that made it swell as well as TEN+ bites all over my body. I checked the bed and there they were.. bed bugs, a big fear for many. I went to office to let them know, all I get is ok we can put you in a different room. Lady did not act shocked or surprised, it’s like she has heard this plenty. We got another room which I do believe was ok after checking the bed and sleeping there a few more nights. Two days later I noticed there are new guests in that exact room which is illegal in California. You can not rent a room or house if you’re aware of bedbugs and they sure did that. It was only 2 days, they did NOT have time to get that room cleared of bed bugs. What they’re doing is illegal, unsafe and not ok. This was mentally and physically hard for me. My bites itched and burned so bad all over my body. My lip was swollen for days on my HONEYMOON. I could not sleep nor enjoy the rest of my trip without this constantly being on my mind and going through the physical part of it. Not to mention, being scared I’m going to carry these bugs home to my family and my children. I do believe I should be compensated for the pain I endured in this motel but I didn’t get anything, not even a sincere apology. Im sure the other family that was placed in there, is also feeling the same way. It’s not the hotels fault they have them, but it is their fault not doing anything about it or trying to help the problem at all. I have pics of the bugs as well as...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about this place!. My granddaughter and I stayed 2 nights last week. We have been coming to Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk every summer for the last 7 years. This was definitely the best hotel we have stayed in. Our room was immaculate! The mattresses looked brand new. Very comfortable. The room was freshly remodeled and sparkling clean. The sheets and linens were crisp and fresh. There was a small kitchenette with a sink, microwave, coffeemaker and small fridge. The shower was brand new with beautiful tile and great water pressure. The whole area outside was clean and tidy. I felt very safe. No homeless or suspicious people anywhere around the area. Very quiet at night. We walked to the boardwalk in about 8 minutes. I felt safe enough to walk back after dark with no problems at all. Each time we came back at night we opened our door to freshly made beds clean towels and replenished coffee and soap etc. The owner and staff are extraordinarily nice and so accommodating. It was absolutely a pleasure staying there. You cant beat the prices. Very affordable and very nice all around. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely...
Read moreWonderful experience! Staff was very friendly, let me have a later check out which was really nice. My friend and I stayed for 2 nights. We had a room with one queen bed but while another room was being cleaned I was able to get a picture of the two bed room as well. As soon as we walked in the room we were met with a clean hotel room smell. There was a good size fridge and microwave as well as a mounted television. Everything was very clean. The staff up front were super kind. It was $85 for a Friday night and 135/145 for a Saturday night I can’t quite remember $272 overall for both nights- very affordable for the area. Walking distance to the Santa Cruz boardwalk/arcade and shopping areas. You can literally see the rides of the boardwalk from the hotel. We left the car parked there and walked, free parking. There are two nightstands on each side of the bed with drawers. One side has a lamp. There are a total of 4 ports for phone chords no box needed. The area is pretty quiet. The AC is a wall AC but it worked WONDERFULLY, I like a cold room to sleep in. I...
