Great big well maintained beach with so much to see and do. So a day at the beach with family may be worth the price of parking, considering all the available options! The high profile oceanfront at the west end of I-10, the longest cross country highway in the country, is the first thing seen beyond the tunnel. The notable Pacific Coast Highway continues up the coast from here, further associating the connection with the famous crossroads! The beach has lifeguards and police presence, as well as security cameras. The beach and water are clean enough to make a go of it. There’s adequate surf to bodyboard on tho full out surfing may not always be possible here! Public restrooms are usually within access across the lot. Santa Monica Pier with all it has to offer is within walking distance. The super long bike path continues thru for miles north and south. Rentals of bikes and scooters may be available as well. There’s also the higher views from Palisades Park and the shopping of nearby Santa Monica Place Mall and Third...

You can rent bikes and electric scooters here, and there are bike paths along the beach.
Santa Monica Pier is also very crowded. The nearest restrooms are on the pier. However, there were also lineups to get in. A lot of eateries & food hawkers are available around, and the prices are reasonable. There is an amusement park and arcade on the pier. Rides were $20 for the kids and $40 for the older kids and adults with the day access.
There is plenty of parking available just across the beach, $7 for the whole day. Overall, Santa Monica Beach is okay, but I liked Laguna Beach or Huntington...

There is a great view in the distant environment if you look off to the hills in the background.
If you like beach volleyball there are many nets set up so you can play, the path is also near by so you can rent a scooter and cruise up and down Santa Monica maybe go check out the pier and get some food or play games when you have enough of the beach.
Again, beach sand was clean weather was awesome,...
