I met Silva at a salon near where I live and since I already knew her I decided to trust her again and go to her new place which is ULTA. I start getting my hair done on April 3rd 2024 The first 4 visits went well, at first she was doing a good job as you can see on the first pics I was so happy that I even sent her messages thanking her for the way she took care of my hair,, my nightmare started when she used a chemical while she was washing off the color and wanted to leave it on for 5 minutes and the first time I couldn't stand it, and that day I remember a man came without an appointment and they told Silva that she had to cut his hair, and she wanted to leave me with that chemical while she did the cut, and that's when I begged her to wash that chemical off because it burned and itched and the cut was going to last more than 5 minutes, September 29 is the day she started using this chemical which I described, on October 3rd I contacted her via Instagram which is where we always contacted each other to ask her what chemical she had used, and I told her that the last visit had caused me a lot of itching and didn’t let me rest and that i had to I get up in the middle of the night to wash my hair to see if I felt relief i don't know if she was experimenting on me.. It's the first time in my entire life that I see someone use one stronger chemical after another. After that she contacted me to tell me that she had talked to the managers and they wanted to give me a free cool treatment to help me with my scalp, in which they gave me an appointment for that, it helped me but it was not the solution,
kept going for 3 or 4 sessions but told her didn’t want that chemical anymore, cause i can feel that my scalp got so sensitive, my hair began to fall out in large quantities, that scared me.. It all seemed very strange to me, because after that she never wanted to accept my tip, She had the nerve to blame my hair loss on my health, I went to the doctor on November 11 to prove her wrong, she wants to get out of this with clean hands.. She knows exactly what she did… i called ULTA BEAUTY even though Silva told me they already knew I I decided to call Ulta and let them know what I'm going through and I spoke to the store manager Jessi , who was very nice and told me she would pass the message on to the salon manager cause she was in a meeting no call back that shows how little they care, Jan 30th i saw a dermatologist and sure enough everything was caused from the chemicals..my intention in doing this review is to prevent other people from going through the same thing as me, All this caused me a lot of distress both mentally and physically I wish any ULTA manager could see with their own eyes the condition my hair and scalp is in, I have been documenting everything since my hair started falling out with photos and videos.
UPDATE Ulta called me and they want to pay my doctor's bills and refund the service charge, the manager promised to call me with information about the Salon insurance and it's been almost two weeks and Tammy the manager hasn't called...
Read moreThe employees at this Ulta are always really friendly. I've been to many ultas in many states and I've never experienced such a positive Ulta team. I was also purchasing a nutrogena sunscreen Ive been wanting to try (I work ourside,) while I was waiting in line I found a Clinique spf sample box in the travel size section, and so I thought it was just a really small travel size. It was for a Clinique men's spf 25. I'm a firm believer that all spfs should sell travel sizes since there are so many and it's always so hard to find a good one. So I was really excited when I saw this sample.it didn't have a price on it so I brought it to the counter and asked for the price. The cashier who's name I believe is Kelly, because that is what's on my receipt put it aside and started to finish taking my coupon she asked for my number for the rewards and I don't know if it's because she saw my platnium member status, but she said, " no what.. you can just have the sample." This made my last 2 weeks and was an awesome way to start my new year! I had been having a really bad couple of weeks, I don't celebrate holidays cause my family is all on the east coast and I can't afford to see them so I am always alone for Christmas and New years. Getting the free sample really cheered me up though! In the past at other ultas I would only ever get the free gift with purchase if I asked, and I would always feel bad asking cause it made me feel like a jerk, so it's pretty typical that I never get my free gifts with pruchase(when there is one.) I think it might have to do with me being a guy. I'm so happy I had to run to my car and write a review about how nice this Ulta is and how nice I was treated by this one employee! Thank you!...
Read moreRemoving care products for dreadlocks is not a good look. I could understand having only one or two thing, but there is absolutely nothing available for loc care here. And apparently they used to carry them but have downsized ? Very disappointing.
EDIT: a response to the response below. So during this visit that I am rating a one-star, I did try to flag down a “beauty advisor” and ask about the availability of loc care products (kinda 101. Why wouldn’t I do that? Just the patronizing advice alone, gives you a feel of this place lol). The “advisor” kinda made a bewildered face like I was speaking Greek then said “uh one sec” and shuffled off to go find the Black one, who then came (after some time) and said “yeah they’ve been pulling all the loc care items from the shelves. I don’t know why”. Neither “advisor” made the suggestion of ordering the items online, but no matter, because Ulta is not the only beauty supply store in existence nor anywhere near the best one . I just went to my local beauty supply store, which had them. I don’t need to wait a week just to pay Ulta for something they wanted to give me the runaround to get. ...
