If you’re searching for boba in Santa Monica, I highly advise against giving Boba Tea and Me your business.
I stumbled upon their TikTok while exploring new places to try, and what I witnessed was utterly unprofessional. They posted a video mocking DoorDashers, which already gave me secondhand embarrassment but the real issue arose after I left a comment expressing my concern. Instead of handling it with maturity, the business account itself responded with hostility, and to make matters worse, staff members from personal and side accounts joined in to pile on.
While it’s acceptable to be edgy online, when you’re running a business, basic professionalism shouldn’t be optional. Their comment section is a chaotic mess of passive-aggressive replies to legitimate criticism, which suggests that their behavior behind the counter is likely similar.
Social media can be a powerful tool for small businesses when used effectively. In this case, it’s doing the exact opposite. Perhaps they should focus less on engaging in online confrontations and more on cultivating genuine customer relationships.
As a heads-up for anyone who values supporting respectful and community-oriented businesses, I urge caution when considering...
Read moreExtremely frustrated with the service from Boba Tea and Me. I was picking up an order that was placed online that was supposed to be ready at 2:43pm. It is currently 2:59pm and i’m still standing in the lobby waiting for them to make it. I hear nothing but talking and laughing between the two women who are (supposed to be) working today. They often stop what they are doing to laugh or look at each other when talking. They showed little to no apologetic tendencies when telling me that my single drink was going to be delayed despite me being 1 of two people in the store... My first experience at this Boba place; and my last. Recommendation to management: Get harder working employees or please train better. They are representatives of your establishment and are continuously slandering your company name through the disrespect of paying customers. (I did not catch the name of the employees but this happened at 2:40-3:00 on 4/4/21 and hopefully your shift schedule will tell you...
Read moreEdit: I am revising my review from one star to three stars. While their boba is mediocre, their dumplings are easily the best wontons in Santa Monica or even the west side. Their staff is really friendly too. Come here for the shrimp and pork wontons. Ask for extra sauce (they’ll charge you but it’s worth it).
They don’t disclose that they put sugar in all their powders. Matcha, taro, etc. If you order no sugar, good luck! There will be sugar. Once I find a good boba place, I’m extremely loyal. This place doesn’t cut it honestly. Their boba is mediocre at best and extremely overpriced. Also, I ordered black boba but they decided to mix honey boba in? Did you run out of boba? The only good thing about this restaurant is the girl who works there. She’s on top of everything and friendly. Great customer service. If you want good boba though, try Sunright. I’ve ordered from this restaurant about 10-15 times and I’m...
