Read moreThis dog park is in Mast Park, Santee. They open at 5am, there are 3 sections, a big dog (50+lbs) section, small dog (-50lbs) section and a puppy (all shots to 4mo) section. It was still dark out when we went before work. We used the puppy section cause no one else was there and it was dark, the big dog section was big and we couldn't see everywhere so we didn't want our dogs unsupervised in some areas. All the sections have a two gate entrance, which is nice in case another dog follows you out its stuck in the little gated staging area, not running in the street or parking lot or all over the park. Because Mast Park is pretty amazing. Great walking trail that stretches literally for miles. Frisbee golf installed a year ago. 4 bucks a round (honor system), under 18 free. A huge play area for children. A full size basketball court, and a lot of distance between all of the various venues. Now, 93% of you who will at some point visit San Diego will probably make the near inland trip of highway 52 to Santee, "but if you do", absolutely check out the park! TIP...take the trolley from downtown SD, it's cheap and miles of sightseeing along the way. Editor's Note: I do not work in the Santee Public...
