The optical department is full of rude employees. I've tried getting service there on two different occasions in the past four months, and each time, I've been treated poorly. The first time, I tried to get contacts filled. I showed the employee my prescription that my optometrist printed out for me. She gave it back to me and said it was against the law to have an unsigned prescription. I was a little confused, since I've never had an issue with my prescription in the past decade of going to the same medical office. Mind you, I was able to order my contacts through the Costco app, but I was in the store and thought I might as well refill (which I let the employee know). "You shouldn't have been able to order online because YOUR DOCTOR DIDN'T SIGN YOUR PRESCRIPTION. IT'S AGAINST THE LAW."
At that point, I asked her if any other costco's had my items in stock. She looked it up and gave me the info. When I got to the other location, the employee pointed out "ELECTRONICALLY SIGNED BY DR. (name) on (date)." and I left with a couple of boxes.
The second time at santee, I was walking by the optometry counter to see if they had my contacts in stock. It seemed as though the employee who "assisted" me was rushing to leave, cell phone in hand, computer signed out. She let me know that she can order them, which would take 3-5 days. I asked if she could look up other locations stock, as I was able to pick them up in store a couple of months back, and I told her the location. She took about a second and with a couple clicks on the keyboard, she said "Yeah, they have them. Go there." (I'm sure you can't login and look that up in that short period of a time). And then turns her back to me. I had to get the attention of the employee standing next to her because I had another question. I asked her if she could enter in my updated prescription so that it would be in the system by the time I get to the other location. She stated "We don't do that. Our information is only for our location." I asked if she was sure about that, and she stated, rudely, that they don't share information with other costco's. I was about to argue with her, since she was clearly trying to walk away from the counter.
I suggest going to a different location. The ladies who work here are...
Read moreJill is a manager in Returns. If memory serves she is the only Jill in the Santee Costco location. I rarely ask for employee names. However, when I experience exceptional service and especially if the respective employee connects, not just on a business level, but a level that welcomes and lifts me to the experience of feeling as if nothing else is holding the respective employee's attention— like I am the most important person in the room, or with respect to their job, and therefore therefore in working to be of service that is sincerely genuine and in which the obviously authentic connection and focus and service through completion is observably the chief task at hand, ... not sure how to end this sentence at the moment (writimg on tiny phone screens does no justice in my attempt to extol praise) so I will try and boil down what i am trying to share:. Jill was a warm and welcoming down-to-earth and "real" (genuine) person I enjoyed connecting with (it's worth mentioning this is in the context of an evening running errands and feeling not especially delighted at the long hours of work I must complete) . This experience reminds me of the times I have had in meeting or conversing with business persons throught my life that established in my mind how much I appreciate their business, want to return to their business before potential alternatives and especially because of the feeling of trustowrthiness and establishing an ongoing personable business relationship, as well as want to share with others how "hometown" "local family owned and operated" vibe or "exceptional above-and-beyond service" is and can be found at, with, or from each rare resective buainess and/or the individual employee that established just how much quality can be found in the service from and in the people at business like Costco santee. Clearly Management is doing something right and well; thank you management,...
Read moreThe clan definitely has its roots in the community and unfortunately at this costco some staff here are either clan members or influenced by it. We went there to get a visa/passport photo corrected. I speak a very fluent english even though I was not born in the US. The tall woman with long hair at the photo station started telling us that the issue was not their problem and that we needed to pay again if we wanted to correct the issue. I mentioned to her that they do mention on the receipt that the photo is for Chinese passport/ visa and if they are selling something under that description and if the photo does not follow the guidelines then it is not the customers fault. She started jumping in the middle of my words while I was explaining and then said that I am not letting her finish her words , where that was absolutely rediculous because we let her talk first and she told us that it's not their fault blah blah... so I asked for the store manager, she right away called on another woman middle aged short height and rather chubby woman who came forward and did not even introduce herself. I tried to explain the situation to her and she told me that she does not understand my English! I mean that is quite a low blow because I have an advanced degree from a top 10 university in this country and I am certain my english is fluent! I think the woman should be asking for a refund for her GED because not only she does not understand English, she has major issues understanding customer service ... I finally got a hold of the store manager Julio and he apologized but that is certainly not enough. I am following this matter with my lawyer. This is the 21st century and If you discriminate against people because of their race then guess what you...
