Yummy House in Sarasota offers a great dining experience with flavorful dishes, attentive service, and excellent value. Here’s the detailed breakdown: • Service (15/20): Good service, saved by our server Jesus. My wife and I are Mexican-American so it was no problem that most of the staff are native Spanish speakers. However, the hostess failed to utter a word to us when we walked in. I asked how she was doing and got no reply. Only thing she registered was table for two. Either she was unfriendly or didn't understand English. Again, not a problem for me but could be for you. • Cleanliness (12/15): Most of the restaurant was clean, including the dining area and tables. However, the bathrooms could use a little extra attention to bring them up to the same standard. • Food/Products (25/25): The food was to our expectation, which is really hard to accomplish! Every dish was fresh and flavorful, exceeding what most places achieve. Particular highlights included the Singapore Style Rice Noodles, which was tender and packed with flavor, and the Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice, which went well with the noodles. Each plate felt thoughtfully prepared and worth every bite. Crunchy Egg Rolls were unimpressive to me but my wife liked them. • Value for Money (15/15): Excellent value for your money. Most dishes are made to feed 2-4 people but my wife and I could not eat the whole serving sizes so it definitely feeds 4 easy. Total bill was $54, with two apps and two main entrees, and two beers. Split that between 4 people and everyone eats for around $10-15 each. • Atmosphere (12/15): The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant, though not particularly memorable. It’s a nice place to enjoy a meal, but the decor and ambiance don’t stand out. • Accessibility and Convenience (8/10): Getting in and out the lot can be tricky and hard to navigate based on small one way parking. Been here a couple of times before reviewing so I knew, but it could be hard to access for someone new.
Combined Score based on my criteria/rubric: 87/100
Overall Impression:
Yummy House is a must-visit for Chinese cuisine lovers in Sarasota. The Singapore Style Rice Noodles and Seafood Pineapple Fried Rice stood out as exceptional, and the overall dining experience was enjoyable. With minor improvements in bathroom cleanliness, ambiance and hostess’ customer service, it could easily become a 5-star spot. For now, it’s a strong 4 stars and well...
Read moreWent here for lunch for the first time and we ordered two entrees from the lunch menu and also ordered four different types of dim sum: Hong Kong style egg tart, steamed pork and shrimp dumpling, honey glazed bbq pork buns, and Shanghai style dumplings. All the food came out freshly made and looked amazing. The service was really good.
It was my first time trying dim sum. Some of the dim sum was a hit and others a miss. The egg tarts were delicious. The custard was creamy and not overly sweet. The Shanghai dumplings were also good. They reminded me of wontons. All the juice was trapped inside and made the dumplings all the better. Be careful though; they come out piping hot. I was excited for the bbq pork buns but they had an overpowering pork flavor which threw me off. The steamed pork and shrimp dumplings also had too much of a fishy taste.
Our lunch entrees were bistro lo mein, and honey walnut chicken. Both dishes were delicious. Although, the lo mein isn't different from any other Chinese restaurant. The honey walnut chicken was nice and crispy, while the meat on the inside is tender and juicy. The steamed baby bok choy adds a nice and refreshing element to the heavy dish.
Final verdict; I find it hard to review this place since the menu is so massive. There is an assortment of different style of dishes ranging from noodle dishes, clay pots, dim sum, noodle soups, stir fry's and much more. You would need to make many trips to try everything. I can't imagine everything on the...

Went for dim sum for the first time. Not my first time eating dim sum. Lived in Hawaii where dim sum was everywhere in China town.
My husband went here for dim sum before and said it was great. He had the scallops on chef’s special. So we got it this time. We were given shrimp instead! We thought maybe they made a mistake.
So we ordered it a second time. I opened it up and still shrimp inside. Were they trying to pass shrimp for scallop? I know what scallop tastes like.
When we asked the server she took it to the back and said it’s mixed with shrimp. Barely any scallops, looks like chopped mush with shrimp.
The shrimp (har gow) is $4.99 vs the scallop is $5.50. It’s only a $0.50 difference but if I order scallops I expect scallops and not chopped mush with filler shrimp.
Very disappointed. The hong kong dim sum is too doughy, not enough meat or broth. The har gow dough was also too thick although there is good enough filling in it. Vegetable was too tough.
Maybe it was a bad day for them but that was not a good experience. Even the server did not look happy to be serving us.
Only saving grace was the egg tarts.

A pleasant surprise! Never thought the interior would be sleek and modern. I wanted to get dim sum but unfortunately they only serve it for lunch.
Everything was delicious but the crispy noodles were our favorite. We like the generous amounts of vegetables in the dishes we ordered.
We’re looking forward to coming back...
