I will occasionally grab dinner at Vinnie's, Belford's, B&D's, or Wild Wings (which are all worth it), but outside of that I make it a habit to avoid city market. If you enjoy local art, there are some good galleries, but visit before sundown. After sundown, the crowd can get a bit rough. Definitely not appropriate for children! Ellis Square can be fun for the kids, since they can play in the fountains, but you may come across some unpleasant people - even during the day. The Tervis store is just off the square, if you enjoy the cups. As far as the bars in the area, they're not great. Just off City Market however, both Ampersand and Social Club are great for younger crowds! LOVE this hotel bed, bathroom shower slippry had to put towel in my shower, room with refg & microwave room spacious. Will stay agine. Good bkft options, but ac make your food cold quick. But still love this hotel. Everything was perfect. Valet kind of crazy, it can get backup, but the guys are nice. Double tree just okay wouldnt stay againe but the valet easier and staff still nice in both hotels. Lobby nice room not as good and the bkft area not as good in Double Tree plus their no chef inn double tree. hilton inn savannh chef will cook your eggs right in front of you its just my type of hotel atmospher.
