Realistically the park seems to be a part of a theme. As with the greenbelt, floodplain you do not judge the whole by a portion. A strong consideration is many methods a family and or friends can be in a healthy activity. It might be just being prone or seated to a more intense activity. The area has a number of parks that are thankfully not all the same. If the Indian School lake is not the best for someone perhaps accross the street might be a different water environment. You might consider public and private volley ball with very different levels and intensity. A person can walk, ride through adjoining parks from Tempe well into Scottsdale. I do appreciate their efforts to include a water fountain to keep visitors hydrated, and the park admittedly did a great job in placing the picnic tables under the trees so you have a spot to stay cool. From this park, if you want to get more miles in, the sidewalk does connect with the Indian Bend Greenbelt Path (sidewalk) that takes you other parks/play areas...
