Park your car at the beach, watch the waves, seagulls and surfers from the comfort of your car. Wheelchair accessible Public restrooms are nearby if needed. Get out of your car, walk the shoreline on the sidewalks or head out onto the sandy beach which stretches for miles. Fish for surfperch, walk to a restaurant, or into the town of Seaside Oregon where all amenities abound. Seaside Cove is a feature of the North Coast Oregon Pacific Ocean Shoreline defined by the conjunction of the sandy Beach and the transition in direction and character toward the prominent Landmark Tillamook Head the transition from sand toward the Tillimook Head is marked by cobble and boulders. The Seaside Cove is a very active area for surfers, storm watchers, piknickers and sightseers. Homes and rentals populate the shoreline nearby.
There is a hiking Trail Head at the Cove providing access to Tillimook Head, Indian Beach State Park and Ecola State Park. The parks are managed and well maintained by the Oregon State Parks and have vehicle access and bathrooms. There is a primitive hikers camp on Tillimook Head with first come first served availability. Views from the trail are world class spectacular as the prominent Tillimook Head reaches elevation over 700ft. The abandoned Tillimook Lighthouse is a stunning muse located offshore as well as other rock formations protruding from the sea are enchanting and photogenic. Wildlife sightings are common including Seagulls, Eagles, Seals, Sea Lion, Jay's, finches, sparrows, wrens and of course the Oregon Coasts ubiquitous...
Read moreI loved going here, The beach is flat for a couple hundred yards out at low tide. It is easy to walk on because the sand is wet and hard and there was an abundance of Sandollar‘s. In the evening there was a beautiful rainbow looking back to the north east over Seaside. I went here several times, it was not crowded at all. There are some tide pooling areas at the far south end, but I didn’t really see a lot of critter activity like I’ve seen down in Southern California tide pools. If you’re a surfer this must be a place to surf because there were surfers out at several different times. Get there early...
