Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed in the Red Door condo/townhouse for a week in August 2017, and had a wonderful time.

It's located a block and a half from the southern end of the promenade, in a quiet neighbourhood. The building itself was well maintained, and nicely furnished. There's plenty of room for our family, and the convenience of having a kitchen was a real treat. We had intended on using it more frequently, but so many food options within walking distance was too compelling for us to make more than a few meals at 'home'.

Beds were comfortable; especially the bunk beds. The master features both a double and a twin bed, which we would gladly have traded for a queen (or king), but that wasn't a deal breaker.

The service was fantastic - it's a family-run affair, and they clearly put a lot of effort into making sure the guest experience is spot on. We had a friendly tour at the onset of our stay, and were offered coffee and the ubiquitous saltwater taffy, as well as ongoing access to their library of board games and movies.

Most of our time was spent out and about, but we did come back for a few mid-afternoon breaks to cool down, and the living space was relaxing and inviting enough for us chill out in comfort. This place truly did start to feel like a home-away-from-home for us, and we are all looking forward to returning...

“4 Paws and a Tail Wag”-Ruthie Bea (credit for this clever quote goes to Annie)

Sandy Cove Inn was such a delightful surprise! I was just looking for a place to stay with my four-footed friend, Ruthie Bea, but this eclectic home away from home turned out to be so much more. Our room “Smooth Sailing” was clean, quiet and comfortable. And as its name suggests, it was decorated in sailing vessels. It’s situated just two blocks away from a Mobi-Mat that leads to a big sandy beach. This beach is perfect for beachcombing and chasing the surf. (Mobi-Mats are designed for strollers and wheelchairs but are great for short legged dogs and folks like me with knees that struggle in deep sand). Additionally, we were about a mile straight shot from Seaside’s unique downtown area and some really excellent clam chowder. One of Ruthie’s and my favorite things about Sandy Cove was getting to chat with the absolute gem of an owner, Annie, and hear about all her great finds (and treats! Lots of treats and ear scritches). Each room is different and there’s at least twelve that are dog friendly, so Ruthie and I will be back...

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean cute rooms, affordable and so convenient to the promenade, which is a beautiful walk down to broadway (the gardens are lovely, and you can see the Lewis and Clark saltworks along the way). A great way to stay where there’s action, but keep your distance should you chose. I grew up staying in Cannon Beach but coming down to Seaside for kid-friendly activities. Now I know the Avenue U end of town is sleepy and quiet and quaint so I don’t have to pay Cannon Beach prices for accommodations, and any entertainment I crave is a short walk or bike ride away. But who really wants all that when Tillamook Head and surfers cove are just a couple blocks away? Sitting on the rocks at sunset is one of my favorite activities when staying at Sandy Cove.

The Inn was less per night than other places at the south end of the Seaside Promenade. We liked that the beach and walk way were only two blocks from hotel. There is a small grocery store across the street and a cafe one block away. Our room was small, but adequate. The bed was comfortable with extra pillows and blankets available. They updated thre place at some point and rooms have different themes. A small fridge was provided but no microwave. It's an older building so expect noise from the other people staying next door or above since there's two levels. Parking was free and dog friendly for an extra fee. Call when making reservations if you plan on bringing your furry friend!
