I came for a mani // pedi. They were very kind to take me. I was in the neighborhood and loved their good reviews. I spent this fall caring for sick family members so I was especially looking forward to a little self care. The service itself was unfortunately very underwhelming and actually quite painful. The ladies were talking to each other and laughing and did not attempt to engage with me. I kept saying thank you and smiling to try and let them know I appreciated them. Their English was excellent so I wasn’t sure why they didn’t engage me in conversation. The technician who did the pedicure used a motorized tool on the tops of my nails. She went to get it from a shelf; the tool didn’t appear to be sanitized nor did the other manual tools used (didn’t see where they were stored so don’t know their sanitization process). Unfortunately, she pressed quite hard on my middle toe and broke the skin. When I very gently told her it was painful she replied, “yes, it broke the skin because there was a lot of dead skin.” I’m not sure why she was using this tool on my skin. I am quite certain it’s meant for buffing nails. She did not apologize which was just so bizarre. Just more laughing. I’ve been getting regular manicures and pedicures in Queen Anne and Ballard for two decades and have never had a painful one. The good thing about the location is it is very near Bartell Drugs so I was able to get Neosporin for my toe. I hope it heals without issue. The cost for the regular manicure and pedicure was $60. I did tip because Lunar New Year is coming and I wanted to be kind but I will not return to this business. It may be my experience is an outlier and if I returned I would love the service. There are too many other excellent spots with guaranteed fantastic service to try this spot a...
Read moreCannot recommend this place enough!! Found the previous shop owners via Groupon (who were also excellent), then came back recently not realizing they were under new management as G-nails. Somehow, they're even BETTER now and I was already super impressed with the previous business 9 Star Nails.
I made an appointment for my sister and I on 11/22 to get mani-pedis as a special sister-sister treat, and we were both so thrilled with the service and the results! Its now 12/18 and my nails still look flawless - I can't find a single chip or scratch even when I try. My sister's a busy mom to a wild and crazy 2 year old, and her nails only have a few minor chips (after almost a whole month!). 'Nuff said. Last time I got shellac at a diff't salon, they lasted maybe 2 weeks before the edges started to separate and snag/chip. Color me impressed - G-nails really has their technique down!
Such friendly and dedicated workers, and a really wonderful customer experience. They have every type of nail polish, shellac, gel, powder, etc. that your heart could ever desire, and this is hands down the BEST shellac manicure I've ever had. Also, for the pedis they moisturize your feet with oils and pop electric warmer booties on your feel (in lieu of paraffin), AND they also give an amazing hot stone massage. For the manis, what I thought would be a brief hand/wrist massage turned into her untensing my whole arm and shoulder! My hero!!
This salon is out of the way for me (work in SODO, live in Lynnwood), but oh my goodness is it worth it. I don't want to go anywhere else in Seattle for...
Read moreWe just moved to the area and I thought this would be a great spot. Unfortunately, it has issues. It’s very small and when I had called to make the appointment, I had asked if they could do an SNS manicure and pedicure at the same time. They said they could. So, when I got there, the woman who seemed to be in charge asked me to pick my toe nail color, so I know she knew I booked both. Then, Julie started on my nails and I figured they’d move me to a pedicure chair when they could. Julie was very nice and I thought did a good job, but took a full hour to do my nails and no pedicure. They then started to set up the pedicure and I said i had to go which is why I needed them done at the same time. No apologies, but the woman in charge said “I didn’t promise”, so I just said, “i asked for both when I made the appointment and whoever answered the phone said yes, so it’s kind of like a promise?” So, unless you have all day to spend here, I would try another place. Julie was very nice which is why I gave it 2 stars, but it’s only been 1 week and I have 2 broken nails, so you have to be very...
