Magnolia Ace Hardware — Attraction in Seattle

I wouldn't normally ever write a review that complains but I guess this experience I felt maybe worth a mentioning. In all fareness I will say this in Ace hardware defense they were getting ready to close . I was trying to get in fast in n out fast for them .but I needed to use the restroom, like real bad. I said ll 'll be super quick,you won't even know I was there . I said to the young man at the regester oh please please I know we have all been there,(right)..Standing there, Arms crossed He gives me a pointed "NO!"looks at the exit. He says "We are closing! My hart sank and I thought oh wow whatever happened to a friendly Neighborhood Store. I know people are use to this kinda of thing maybe it policy. I don't think we should except this kinda of thing lack of human decency . I couldn't and never will turn anyone away for the use of the Restroom. He may have to fallow his company's protocol of the Ace hardware 's strictly inforced no restroom before closing rule .Or I am I just experiencing another case of younger generations latest trend to avoid effort at all cost ,coupled with the lack of human, companion ? needed a copy of a key and one of the nice women working here helped me almost immediately, she did amazing. then what seemed to be someone in a manager position, an older man, immediately began to undermine and berate her. when she expressed he was upsetting her and failing to acknowledge the many years she has dedicated to the store, he laughed and scoffed at her. it makes no sense to me why management would yell at a worker who clearly was attentive and genuinely good at her job. it made me feel uncomfortable supporting this business when the higher ups at this location do not seem to even support their own colleagues. don’t you DARE insult your employees in front of customers. the fact that he felt the need to try and humiliate one of his coworkers in front of me only made it apparent that he has no idea what he’s doing in his position and is not a proper fit for this line of work or management in general. genuinely hope this man is fired and this location finds much more respectful management. most importantly, thank you to the nice woman who made the key copy for me, you did perfect and i hope you have a much brighter rest...

Oddly rude to teenage customers. I get that the stereotype is that they steal and are up to no good but for goodness sake the staff is incredibly rude about it. Went in there with a group of three people when I was like 16 a few years ago and some very harsh words involving how our parents brought us up and how we didn’t listen were thrown at us when we just didn’t see the sign at the front restricting it to two students at a time. We were just going to look at some signs to get for a friend’s room, and the comments were extremely unnecessary and demeaning. We would’ve listened if someone had approached us politely and mentioned this and gone in separately. It was our fault for not reading the sign, however the reaction to this was very insulting, not only to us, but how we were raised and it was frankly terrifying...
