Please, at all costs, avoid this spa. They pretend to care, but they do not. Ananya Spa is a much better option. I had a horrible experience with this company on what was supposed to be my birthday treat. I initially booked an appointment for 4:30 PM for any available specialist. I made the booking at 10 AM on the same day. About an hour later, I called to request a change to the booking I had just made. The receptionist, whom I assumed was Amy, answered in a condescending tone, stating that I would have to pay half of my booking fee as a rescheduling charge. I reminded her that I had only booked an hour ago for a same-day service. While I understand their policy requires 24 hours' notice for a cancellation, I pointed out that it was impossible to give that notice when my booking was less than 10 hours away. There were still available spots on the calendar for the same day, which I wanted to reschedule to a 2 PM appointment. The receptionist hung up on me and canceled my appointment without my consent, charging me a $70 cancellation fee. I took an Uber 30 minutes later to explain myself in person, hoping they would understand my situation better. However, when I arrived, the receptionist was rude and confirmed that she had canceled my request without permission. I reiterated that I never asked for a cancellation and requested they listen to the phone recording to verify my claim. After a lengthy argument and my insistence on presenting evidence, she reluctantly opened the appointment for me again but insisted it still had to be at 4:30 PM and reversed the cancellation fee. I left the spa feeling angry. This was supposed to be a relaxing birthday treat, but instead, it turned into a frustrating ordeal. I decided to send them an email expressing my displeasure and informing them that I would not be returning for the service due to how I had been treated. It felt strange to allow someone I was still angry with to provide a service to me that requires touching my body. I notified them two hours before my scheduled appointment and requested feedback from their manager. To make matters worse, they charged me three times, and the manager contacted me two days later to inform me I was charged a "no-show" fee. Additionally, I want to point out that I actually have a five-hour window to make changes free of charge for same-day bookings, according to the manager's email she later sent to me. I am unsure why the receptionist refused my request since I was still within that window. There was also supposed to be a first-time discount, but that rude front office employee told me it only applied to walk-ins during the day and not on weekends. However, the manager later confirmed in an email that the discount was available at any time during the week, which was exactly as stated on their website. If that young lady had been willing to apply the discount, I would have been more inclined to proceed with the service on the same day at the desired time. They went ahead and charged me $69.9 without providing any service, and I can't shake the feeling that I was treated differently because of my race. If I were not a person of color, I believe the reception would have been warmer. Amy does not seem interested in providing good service; they appear more focused on taking people's money without delivering any tangible service in return. I requested a refund, but they declined. My decisions would have likely been different if the front office staff had been knowledgeable enough to clarify rescheduling policies for same-day appointments or the details about the discount on their website. I belief a business at their standard should be flexible with their rules. what happens if you are sick? and couldn't meet up? what happens if there are an accident on your way. In my situation they had a free time same day i was looking at, it is not like I am enchroaching another person's time or they have made any significant decisions between when I booked and when I reached out for rescheduling.. it is just a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really looking forward to my massage but did not have a pleasant experience with the online booking system and especially the front desk receptionist. Booking system - It took me multiple refreshes and tries to make an actual booking. There is nowhere that specifies or indicates that you, the customer, should make note of a particular discount. It simply says that it will be taken at the front desk checkout. The front-desk lady had very weird vibes, like the kind of nice with a fake smile and condescending tone. When I mention the new customer offer she goes āoh I did not see a note here about thatā. From a customerās experience, I feel like they should be able to select the offer at booking or have a place to make note of that. I was a few minutes late and get a long text message right when my appointment time starts reminding me of the fine-print cancellation, no-show charges, being late, signing forms, etc. Iām thinking if they really cared about their clients and specialistsā time, they would have called rather than send a long message for someone to read while they are driving or on their way in another means of getting there. Now I assume the front desk lady, Amy was the one who sent this message. When I do get there, she asks me to sign some forms to which I had already done prior to getting there (via another message they had sent). In this instance, the staff should really do their due diligence. The massage itself was fine, nothing great or outstanding. I did not really like that they only used lotion and it was just lathered everywhere. I felt very sticky afterwards and was oddly surprised that my slippers were oily?
Anyways, this experience was really finicky, not seamless, and Amy rubbed me the wrong way. I regret spending my money and time here. I was really wanting a pleasant and calming experience, but the staff just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy partner and I went here for massages and had a sub-par experience, mostly due to personal preference. I wish there had been an option for a massage oil instead of lotion, because I found the sensation of being slathered with so much lotion really gross and felt sticky for the entire day afterward. I love having my scalp massaged but that also meant that some lotion got in my hair too. While I chose the fragrance-free lotion, my partner went with the orange blossom scent. The fragrance stayed on his skin and clothing even after a shower and washing that item of clothing, which bothered my nose and struck me as concerning given that I try to be really careful about avoiding endocrine-disrupting chemicals like artificial fragrance and whatever else may have been in that lotion. Neither of us liked the face rests on the massage tables. I was hoping for a more relaxing massage, which I indicated on the pretty long form they had us fill out, but ended up with more of a PT-style massage that was painful at times (to be fair I could have spoken up more). The spa experience was nice and the staff were friendly, but for future massages Iāll stick to private practice massage therapists given that itās a similar cost for a better experience.
Also, this wasnāt the staffās fault but rather the system that this company uses - the booking process was really confusing and I didnāt receive an automated confirmation email. I eventually got an email from someone at the front desk and had to coordinate with them directly. It sketched me out a little at first and I was worried Iād...
