*Update: was contacted by the salon to make this right, and am therefore changing my rating. I appreciate the quickness with which I was contacted and their willingness to modify based on the lack of clarity on the website.
Would've liked to give a better review, because part of the experience was positive, but unfortunately the overall wasn't great. I went in for a haircut, and added in the notes when booking that I'd like to get a clear gloss if possible. I was told I would need to book with both a colorist (for the gloss) and a stylist (for the cut), which I was fine with, and that pricing was on the website for the specific individuals performing the services. I checked the price for the cut which was as expected, and for the gloss, it was listed as $30. This was the price listed for the specific colorist as well as on the website generally. The colorist talked with me about what I wanted, which was a clear gloss, applied it, and stuck me under one of the dryers. She spent maybe 5-10 minutes with me total, then her assistant washed my hair before I was sent over to the person cutting my hair. The cut is really great, I felt good about what my hair ended up looking like, but when I went to pay the bill, in addition to the cut, I was charged as if I got my hair actually colored. I was pretty shocked by this, since I didn't get my hair colored, and I was never told that the gloss would be treated as a color service when I scheduled it. When I asked about this, they said that it cost $30 only if the gloss was an add on, and basically gave me a shrug of the shoulders when I looked confused and surprised. I would have returned to this salon for the person who cut my hair, but because of this, I won't...

Iâve been to Fringe 3 times now. The first two times with the haircut stylist Chloe and sheâs a god send. Incredibly talented, patient and gave me fantastic haircuts.
One my third visit, I booked an appointment with Rachel, as Chloe wasnât available. In all the appointment confirmation emails from Fringe, they make a huge deal about being on time, late minute cancellation etc.- which I respect, because everyoneâs time is valuable.
However for my appointment on Aug 21st, at 1.15 pm, I was there a couple of minutes early. I checked in and was waiting for the stylist, who they said should be ready in a couple of minutes. However even after 1.30 pm, she wasnât ready and I requested to reschedule my appointment as I could not wait any longer without being late to my next appointment. The audacity of the lady at the counter! Her immediate response was âthis falls under our late cancellationâ!! - absolutely disgusting customer service. Asking me to pay for a service I didnât even receive, after waiting for 15+ minutes and I was requesting to reschedule because Fringe is behind schedule, screams unethical to me. Not to mention, not even a sorry or acknowledgment of their mistake. Attaching a photo from their email where they say that if youâre later than 15 minutes then youâll be charged full price without any service. Man, still trying to get over the double standards here. Gosh, lady at the counter, you...
Read moreAs others have said, no not go here if you are wanting a Balayage. I have had Balayage for years and after my beloved hairstylist left her salon (another one) I came to Fringe after recommendations. I was asked to send in photos of what I wanted, I loved that so they had an idea. But what I got was not even close. I have dirty blonde hair and told the colorist that I love to bring up my natural golden colors, especially for summer. I wanted it to blend with my natural hair and loved when the color didnt go up to the root. What I got was CHUNKY bleach blonde highlights - ala 2000s. And two over processed pieces in the front that start at the root (when I pull my hair back in a ponytail, something I often do...even telling the stylist this, it looks like I have a "skunk line" against my dirty blonde hair.) She was working another clients color at the same time, and at one point told me 10 mins until I was processed, but then came back almost 15-20 mins later - so it feels like it over processed. There are also several chunks of hair that have no color in it. I feel like they dont know what balayage is? Or if they do, they need to be retrained because its just awful color and I dont know what to do, especially after spending $300+ - I cant afford to go get it redone somewhere else. Very frustrating experience. I hope they take these comments from myself and others and do something about their...
