Little Red Hen — Restaurant in Seattle

This bar has changed over the years, but one thing has remained the same. It is the best place for live country music. Not just in Seattle, but easily within an hour of Seattle. Other country bars have DJs spinning the latest and greatest radio hits. I personally enjoy live music. The bands rotate through the Hen 5 nights a week the other 2 are reserved for Karaoke. Wednesday Night Karaoke is pretty popular. You don't need a cowboy hat to fit in as the customers vary as much as Seattle does. Dress comfortable. If you can't enjoy yourself here it is time to do some soul searching.

I never considered myself a "bar person" but this become my second home. The best way to experience the Hen is to come out on a weekend evening. Listen to the band, smile, and if you want to dance, ask someone. I don't care if you are a guy or a girl, just ask someone to dance. The more you do the more people see that you like to dance and you will get asked more. There are a lot of friendly people there as the less than friendly people usually don't last to long.

If you don't know how to dance come to the FREE dance lessons and then stay for the band. Sunday and Tuesday evening country dance lessons run 8-9pm. If you don't have a partner, show up and they will find you one. You will meet new people in the lessons and that gives you instant dance partners to practice with when the band starts up. Monday nights are line dancing lessons, also from 8-9pm.

Was recommended by a person in another pub. If you're interested in Western type venue, this place is the spot 👌 Dancing 💃, decent food, & place to catch some of BALLARD/SEATTLE night lifestyle. On Thursday nights from 7 to 9, they have an instruction night for teaching Western Style dancing. If you're interested in learning how to Western dance, then this is the spot. I go because I like watching people do what they love to do. 01-15-24 It's Monday night at the LITTLE RED HEN, WESTERN LINE DANCING IS TAUGHT. Expect full attendance by locals and those who want to learn about WESTERN LINE dancing. Come early if you want to get a seat. Parking will be a challenge. They have a decent selection of beer's, they do cocktails 🍸, but there pricey. I ordered a WHITE RUSSIAN/NO ROCKS, $12.00, and it didn't taste right. Had a good time! Will be going back! The little red hen is a very popular country bar with a small dance floor and regular, live music. The food is what you expect from a dive bar. The drinks are the same with a small, low to mid selection. It is rough around all the edges and is like a backwater country bar was transplanted right into the big city. The small dance floor gets so crowded it's almost a mosh pit at times. This makes for fun and good people watching but has the expected drawbacks if you actually want to dance. When there isn't music and dancing, the place seems to exist for a handful of regular customers.
