I've been here for several film events over the last few months and... it's incredible. No robotic seats, no overpriced tickets, or stadium food. There's nothing especially mainstream about it, in the best possible way imaginable. Just a great cozy theater, run by wonderful humans with a desire to share their passion. It's a real gem, if you're into that sort of thing.

3 words; Classic Double Features!!! This place is a hidden gem in CT. Great little theater that plays tons of great movies. Their main attraction are the Cult Classics that they double feature; American Werewolf in London & Silver Bullet, Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness, etc. Highly recommended. Plus even their popcorn is awesome!

I've been going to the CT Cult Classics double features at the Strand Theater for a couple years, and I love that there's a local theater that is willing and able to host these and other events. The theater is charming, and comfortable. There is ample parking and it's easy to get to from the highway.

I'd recommend the Strand Theater for your movie-watching needs, especially for the special...

I came for the Stephen King Night 2. It was great and a fun atmosphere. Probably a great crowd. The hobbit bathroom, which is so clean by the way, was lovely. So I didn't care my head was to the ceiling practically, but if you are taller than 5'9" and a women beware. No idea on the men's room. The seats are comfortable enough for the time we were there. Popcorn and soda...
