Great facility, always clean and well staffed. I would encourage all to attend the meetings held there by our friendly neighborhood clerk of Shelby Township, Stanley Grot. Donât attend the meetings with Mark Fortin though. He is the worst âleaderâ of the Republican Party, maybe in Macombâs history. They beg people to run for office so they can retain power, but offer 0 help to those that completely put their life on hold and potentially sacrifice everything as Republicans must do these days. The county party is supposed to financially support candidates, help organize volunteers to door knock and campaign, at the very least, use the connections they should have to assist with filing paperwork, submitting campaign finance reports, the tedious things that require previous knowledge of election department systems and law.. but they do nothing, leaving the candidate they begged on their own, not only to have a difficult, unsupported race, but to become personally indebted to the State of Michigan when having difficulty navigating the intricate nuances of Michigan election law. In 2022, I believe every candidate Mark Fortin & his âco-chairâ Lisa Mancowitz âsupportedâ failed, and nearly all of Stan Grots succeeded. Mark ran around the state captaining for months to be Michiganâs GOP chair, luckily, he withdrew, but when voters asked about a ârumorâ that he was going to quit and support Kristina Karamo, he would aggressively deny the claim, over and over again. Unsurprisingly, during convention, Mark took the stage and did just that, quit, and endorsed Karamo. Just like every other candidate Mark stood behind until the end, Karamo has been a complete failure, utilizing the same playbook as Karamo. Refusing to support any candidates, not training any poll challengers, and even keeping our party completely divided and tied up in litigation constantly, instead of raising funds and supporting candidates to take back the majority in the Michigan house and senate, that we lost in 2022 for the first time in 40 years. Great venue, utilize it for your events, but this coming election is too important not to take the opportunity to inform those who are unaware at every...
Read moreI was really disappointed in the service. I was so excited to celebrate my sonâs first communion party. All these weeks of preparation all for my guests and I to be disappointed. To start off the vegetable tray I wanted was terrible. The vegetables were cold/frozen-like and old, the ranch to dip them in was very runny. I asked one of the servers if theyâve been put in the freezer and she said no they donât put them in the freezer. I also got involved with the manager and said thatâs how itâs supposed to be. The salads and pasta came around, the servers kept coming around and trying to take it away from us. They kept asking if we were done. My table felt very rushed and couldnât enjoy our meal. Even if I wasnât finished I was so annoyed that I just told them to take it. When it came time for dinner, the food was cold and was very bland. It felts very dry and had no flavor. Lastly when it was time to serve cake they lost control. I had also asked them to serve icecream along with the cake. They brought only a few trays of cake and left it on the stands. They didnât pass them out and they were just on the stands for such a long time, to the point where the guests got up and grabbed the plates themselves and had to serve themselves. The ice cream didnât come out till a while after, and same thing happened they just left them there on the trays. To the point where all the ice creams melted. Many guests didnât get cake nor icecream including me the host of the party and my table. Overall my guests and I were very disappointed, the food service was just terrible and the manager did nothing about it. I also mention to them how disappointed I was and they blamed it on being short staffed. They said they had too many parties to take care of which made me feel not important because I had a smaller party (70 guests) We paid so much money and had been planning for this event for so long, we were very excited, just to be...
Read moreI went to Shelby Gardens to decorate a wedding. When I arrived, there was no one in the office, so I went to the room I was supposed to decorate. There was a woman showing the room to a couple. I asked her if there was an elevator we could use to bring up the rest of the decorations. She rudely told me there was an elevator in the back of the building. It seemed as if I was bothering her by asking a simple question. I went around the back to access the elevator and I began unloading my items. An older man sees me bringing in my items and tells me I'm using the wrong elevator. I tried telling him that the woman who was showing the rooms told me to use that elevator. The man cuts me off, overtalks me and says, "You didn't see this sign in the elevator?!" I ended up carrying all of my items up the stairs into the room. I propped the door open so that we could unload and start decorating. The same guy kicks my equipment from in front of the door and Yells "LEARN TO READ LADY" To which I responded "learn to treat people with respect!" I guess they didn't want the door propped open. But why not just ask me to move my things from in front of the door. Why would you kick my property? Why would you yell?! Why be so rude in general? I was only following the instructions that were given to me by one of their employees! I would never decorate or attend an event here again, no matter how much I'm being paid. The people there lack respect and...
