KFC — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

Zero sense of urgency period!!!! If I could give the place a zero, I would! We walked in to see two others waiting plus two cars in the drive through. I joked that it was a bad omen, little did we know how correct I was.

There were plenty of staff, 5-6 that I saw. But NOT ONE hustled at all. The shift supervisor greeted us after about a 3 minute wait. We were still deciding so I told him we needed a minute. He offered for us to just let him know when we were ready. But then I couldn't find him. Another few minutes pass and he comes back and takes our simple order of popcorn chicken, biscuits and mashed potatoes.

Then the wait continues! After about 2 minutes he comes to tell me that they didn't have enough popcorn chicken to fill the order and it would be ready in 3 minutes. That's code for probably about 10 minutes!!! All told, we waited 27 minutes for fried chicken!!!! (Not including my needing a couple minutes of course!)

Then when we went to leave, the exit door that has no breaking bar was already bolt locked, fire code anyone??

The only decent part was that the guy who helped us was at least nice. Not overly friendly like someone should be in a customer service role, but nice...

I was told there would be a 4 min wait on popcorn chicken. After about 20 minutes, an employee told me they forgot about my chicken strips and it would be another 6 minutes. I did not receive my food until 32 minutes after placing my order.

I also ordered two sides of large mashed potatoes. The employees would only give one side of gravy. They said they were only allowed one gravy with each order.

I also asked for all dark chicken in my 8 piece bucket. I only received one leg and one thigh, the rest was breast or wings. The order taker specifically said he would give me 4 thighs and 4 legs.

I asked for honey, hot sauce, and bbq. After giving me the honey and hot sauce (only a couple packets each) I was told I was at my sauce allotment and couldn't get any BBQ dipping sauce for the popcorn chicken. Absolutely ridiculous after spending $40 that I can only get a couple of sauce packets and no dipping sauce, especially after a 32 minute wait.

Several people asked me how long I waited, at that point it was only 15-20 minutes. Several customers in line walked out after hearing my wait time.

Entire counter was also covered in sticky pop.

Extremely disappointed about my experience and...

This review isn't necessarily for the food (which, I've never had an issue with. They put out consistently good product in a timely fashion... unlike some of the other KFC's in the area), but for the customer service and employees at this location.

I was in an accident last night in front of their store. Before I could even realize what happened, there was a nice lady in a KFC uniform at my window asking if I was okay, and if I needed anything. I believe another employee was on the phone with 911. When I got out of my vehicle, she offered to take me inside, asked if I needed a blanket or something to drink, and just genuinely cared about the victims involved in the accident.

I wish I had gotten her name, but as you can imagine... I was a bit shaken up from the experience. Whomever you are, THANK YOU. Thank you for being a compassionate human and not just a gawker of the collision outside. She instinctively wanted to make sure everyone was okay, and wanted to help in any way she could. This is a special type of person, and she (and the other person calling 911) deserve recognition. I'm going to stop by tonight and make sure her management knows what a treasure they have...
