This course is an absolute joke! Driving range balls are a straight rip off. Much cheaper at Littleton golf and tennis. Make sure to not engage with the staff because they are condescending and rude. Between the rude staff, bad prices and very average course this place is not worth your time or money. I would once again recommend Littleton golf and tennis.
My response: I apologize for lumping the entire staff together and using bad language. I didn’t realize who I was talking to one the phone and turns out it was you! So I guess you were the only staff member that was rude. Treated me and my group with a disrespect when we were simply asking about rain checks. I have no issue that we didn’t get one but I don’t appreciate your rude behavior, when we were simply inquiring about your policy’s . I am simply trying to leave a review about my experience at the course and I apologize if that hurt your feelings.
My second response: I would consider the driving range and staff interactions to all be apart of the experience. The only thing I am pivoting from is my initial statement that lumped your whole staff together. The people I spoke with in person were polite. My frustrations came from my phone call interactions. It wasn’t until after I left my initial review that I realized you were the only person I talked to. Once again no issue with not getting the rain check but when you are a paying customer the least you could get in return is a polite response to a question. My groups simple question regarding the rain check policy was responded with sarcasm and I didn’t appreciate it. Yes, we had been on the course for about an hour and a half, like I tried to explain to you the group before us was moving slow so we had not finished yet. This wasn’t a good enough answer for you though as you tried to tell us that we should have been done already. Once again no issue with the fact we didn’t get a rain checks but, your attempt to make us feel stupid on the phone for simply asking a question was unacceptable. Rather than giving me the chance to explain this to you on the phone, you chose to respond with...
Read moreThis review is ONLY for the back 9, holes 10-18.
I have played BT on several occasions in the past. It's an older course, well, half of it is. The front 9 sits on former landfill. Something about that fact makes the grass rotten. It doesn't grow consistently and there's not much reason to play it, to be honest. The course knows it's in bad shape, and they're working to remedy. Front 9, buyer beware.
The Back 9, the older part of the course, is delightful. Not exactly a championship level course, but for a municipal, it's got incredibly lush fairways, some of which seem quite narrow at times. It's almost dead flat. It's an older course that still plays well, and is in excellent shape for such a dry year.
Every fairway looks like a lush carpet. You'd think they'd need a vacuum not a mower. The greens are in decent shape, they roll fast and true. It would be great if more golfers would repair their divots and pitch marks. Sadly, too many are lazy.
There's not a lot of danger on the course, some water that intrudes on several fairways and adds some challenge. I normally lose a ball or two/9 holes, but today I never got into any trouble.
In short, the back 9 is an old course, in better shape than the front, and a good confidence booster if you can avoid the occasional dangers that lurk in the ponds.
I give it 4 stars (back 9 only, remember). One star for the gorgeously lush fairways. One star for being interesting, if not exactly challenging. One star for being forgiving, because let's be honest, we're not all professionals. One star for the greens, while they show damage, they roll surprisingly (and consistently) well. It's a bit pricier than other municipals, $30 to walk 9. Given such gems as Fox Hollow and some of the Denver courses are $4-6 cheaper, that...
Read moreWould score less if possible today. Frost delay because it was in the 30-35 degree range this morning. Tee time at 2:40pm, 73 degrees at our delayed tee time of 3:20pm. Stuck behind two groups that carried 9 holes in over 3 hours. Never saw the Marshall once.
Skipped holes 6 & 7 to pass the two groups in front of us. Get through 10 and the Marshall shows up first time and kicks us off the course. We only paid for 9 holes and 11 would have been our 9th. According to this course that looks like skid marks and road rash across the course, the muni folks here have zero interest in working with their patrons.
Got kicked off the course at 5:10pm with another hour of sunlight left. Marshall said was out over 5 times over the course of the round and clearly had no clue what was happening on the course. Obviously we paid only $45 for 9 holes but to honestly think this course belongs in the $90 for 18 holes clearly hasn’t seen how quality the local putt putt course is in comparison.
I understand this course is not a highly touted track but when you allow folks to wear athletic clothes out on the course yet kick off others that are not in the way of anyone and just trying to make it through 9 holes because the course doesn’t manage their foursomes on the course, anyone would be frustrated.
Clearly the concern is not the health of the course nor the enjoyment of the patrons. Hole #1 looks like a dog park in the middle of the west Texas desert matching the personality of the course management.
I do not advise anyone to play here unless you want to spend 6 hours annoyed, irritated and disrespected. The picture I posted is from the first tee box and no those are not bunkers. Thanks for a waste of a...
