Thankfully not a bride purchasing this venue for mine and my FH special day. I would like to forewarn brides and grooms of this beautifully overpriced venue. 11K for only 8 hours. And this is supposedly for 30 acres they don't even show you. Just the little "forest retreat" where one can get married outdoors if they so choose and the venue itself. Despite the price my FH and I wanted to see if there was more price friendly options so we could be able to reserve our 2025 date. Megan, the venue manager informed me via email that payment plans to go towards the down payment (becuase who can afford to break out 5K like it is nothing) would be possible. I was thinking, awesome! Now we just have to speak with the bank to solidify things. I was supposed to have a meeting with Megan about final questions. You know, a simple phone call. I was no called no showed at the alloted time on a Friday evening. I waited, and at 7PM, I emailed Megan asking if everything was alright. Didn't get a response. Then there was another email, but asking for forgiveness becuase the wedding they had that same day needed "all of their attention." I thought, okay, they like to take care of things on-site 100%, I can respect that. But then Megan throws this Sara into the group suddenly stating I would be speaking with the both of them. No introduction, just a call from this Sara-Megan was not in the call at all, who sounded winded, and didn't want to be on the phone with me. She halfheartedly asked if things were "too rushed," and out of confusion I did inform her they were not rushed. I asked about the possibility of a payment plan, becuase again, in this world 5K is hard to group together in a short period of time. She flat out informed me there would not be any financing. I informed her I did not need financing, as we were working with the bank. Just a request for some leniency so we can get things going on our end as the buyers. She re-iterated they "do not do financing," and asked if I had any other questions. I informed her I did not, as she quickly glossed over my questions. I informed my FH about this interaction and we stewed on whether or not we wanted to go forward with a venue who would treat future brides who are potentially purchasing the venue, like this. But, with my review star, this ends on quite the unprofessional note. I emailed Megan informing her of the phone call I received, and apologized to her for not emailing sooner. I informed her I did not know who this Sara was, but the call was quite rushed and unprofessional. Regardless of this call, we were still slightly geared toward renting the venue still. At this point it was more so me, than my FH as he did not want to deal with people like Sara. And since that last email, I have been unresponded to, it has been complete radio silence on their end. No further emails at all. At least politely inform me they do not wish to do business with me. So again, a warning for future brides and grooms of the unprofessionalism I experienced. Hopefully this is a "fluke" and not too much ego has been boosted at this venue since becoming, "one of the up and coming venues...
Read moreNorthern Haus is the best!!! I could never accurately put into words how special this place is, but here goes nothing: I grew up going to Door County each summer and always had a pipe dream of getting married here. When I got engaged in March 2022, I booked Northern Haus almost immediately without ever having seen it in person. There was something about its natural beauty that just made me know that it was where my husband and I were meant to get married.
I didn't actually see the venue in-person until the day before my wedding at my rehearsal, but you would have no idea because of the amazingly helpful owners, Sara and Nick, and staff, Megan, who helped you feel like a part of the Northern Haus family from the moment you first make contact with them. I worked with Sara and Megan extensively throughout the 16 or so months of my wedding planning, and they were the most knowledgeable, thoughtful, and patient people to work with. They helped me to understand the space, encouraged my ideas, and supported me through the millions of questions I had along the way. I also need to note how incredibly helpful Northern Hausâ preferred list of vendors is â I could not have planned our wedding from California without this list. We used so many of their preferred vendors and all of them exceeded our expectations!
On the day of the wedding, I would not have been able to be stress-free if it werenât for Sara being my Day Of Coordinator. She felt like another friend to me that day â someone who was looking out for me and my happiness every step of the way. She also has an amazing ability to troubleshoot, but not involve you in anything that might cause you unnecessary stress. She made the day feel so incredibly smooth every step of the way. Some other highlights of the day included bar carts with beer and wine for our guests as they arrived for the ceremony, Saraâs truly unreal ability to read a weather forecast and figure out the perfect time for us to squeeze in our outdoor ceremony before it started to rain, the rainbow that came out after said rain (I know Northern Haus didnât necessarily make the rainbow happen but also maybe they did? theyâre that amazing), nonstop dancing during the reception, and so much more.
To put it simply, our wedding day was the best day of my life. I know people say this all the time, but I really feel that Northern Haus helped to ensure that it was the best day of my life. Sara, Nick, and Megan are all such amazing professionals who truly care about the happiness and success of their clients. If you are in search of truly a dream venue with the very best people, you canât beat...

We chose their Breeze Wedding package since we wanted a smaller, more intimate wedding and it was exactly what we'd been searching for. We learned while searching for a venue that not many WI venues offer a true intimate wedding package. After spending sooo much time trying to find an inclusive package that would fit our vision of an intimate day with our favorite people, Northern Haus checked every single box. We wanted a day that felt intentional and centered on our closest people, and Northern Haus made that more than possible for us.
Megan was truly a dream to work with!! From the start she was so personal, easy to talk with, and extremely organized. She helped us customize our package to match our vision perfectly, she was super responsive, answered our questions quickly, met with us ahead of time, and built a detailed timeline for the day of. She helped remind us of the little details we hadn't thought of which made all the difference. She also set up the personal decor and details we brought which looked even better than we imagined. We felt completely at ease knowing she understood our vision. On the day itself, she was such a calming and reassuring presence! She made sure things ran smoothly and she checked in with us just enough to make sure we were feeling good and enjoying ourselves. Megan went above and beyond in every single way and truly cared about our day and experience.
The venue itself is STUNNING. The pictures online are beautiful, but seeing it in person is an entirely different experience. There's a warmth and charm to Northern Haus that pictures just can't capture. Sara and Nick are such kind & wonderful people and they really thought of every single detail when building the venue. The Forest Retreat is breathtaking and feels so magical and intimate. Every preferred wedding vendor we worked with was professional, easy to communicate with, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. It was truly flawless and we left feeling incredibly grateful for our vendor team.
If you're getting married and looking to have a more intimate wedding day, we cannot recommend Northern Haus enough! We'd choose it a thousand times over and can't wait to visit again. Thank you so much to Sara, Nick, & Megan for all that you did to make our day feel so special and memorable!Â
