We were in there tonight for the Golf Cart Christmas Parade. Our first time. We walked in and specially asked for two 12oz vanilla cappuccinos (as the sizes were right in front of us). We waited for more than 15 mins. There were more than two Crystal's in there so the one said she didn't order that so they dumped the drinks and started making the right one for that Crystal as those were our drinks. So here we are waiting for our drinks again. We received the wrong size and were then told they didn't make 12oz cappuccinos. Our drinks were not cappuccinos they were expressos. Two different people walked out while we were there because they were serving people who came in and ordered after us. Our friends went in and got hot chocolate they said they were asked if whole milk was OK and they were still made with water. Another friend who was there right after us was waiting for his drinks with us we got ours he finally walked out without his drinks because his order was wrong and made with water also. I don't know what they had going on but they weren't ready. Restrooms closed to paying customers. I paid $10 for maybe four sips of whatever they sold me. Will not being...
Read moreWhile visiting the area I wanted to patronize a coffee shop. After doing a little research on Yelp- this one seemed promising.
Roots is located in the cutest area of town. I love the vibe of the block. They offer parking in front of the shop as well as across the street. When you walk up you immediately get a happy feeling. The umbrella art installation in the street, the cute tables outside , the plants just take you to a happy place.
The inside decor does not disappoint. It gives off vintage vibes with a flare! The couch, the floor model TV, even the trunk decor takes me back to childhood! They have a few dinning options inside as well as the outside tables noted earlier.
Durring my first visit I had a drink and the avocado toast. I was not crazy about the toast. As such, the second time I stopped by I only ordered a coffee drink. The drink names are so cute! Some examples include, Birds of Paradise, The Prince, and The Bee Hive! I loved the flavor of the drinks I tried.

Read moreI love this place! I live in Metairie but was house sitting when I found this gem.
To start, the I’d give the atmosphere 6 stars if I could. It’s so welcoming and green and fresh. There’s so many cute details like books and plant supplies for purchase. The furniture is gorgeous.
The coffee is incredible. The first day I had a brown sugar iced latte. They use oat milk by default and don’t up-charge for other milk alternatives. The second day I had their special, the pistachio latte. Both were so yummy! I also had the bagel and a turkey croissant sandwich. Nothing earth-shattering but still good.
The owners are a lovely couple that told me they wanted to create a space that they would have liked to date in, somewhere you can relax and be authentic. I think they hit the mark!
