update.•°•.•°•.•° 06/05/2021 We have been coming here for FOURTEEN (14) YEARS! ...and over the years my pups have been HaPpY at EVERY COBB County Dog Park❣️
BURGER is THE ONLY Dog PARK Without a Bathroom for humans!! ...and the ONLY running water here comes from the fountains, so don't soil your hands!! (During a zoning variance notice the neighbors set conditions for Their Neighborhood! Including, but not limited to NO LIGHTS ON THE FIELD! ... NO Public Bathrooms! ... Daylight hours Only! ... NO Paved Parking!
If you have to CUT and RUN to a public bathroom, the closest is either Walgreens or Wendy's, on the corner of Hwy 280 & Windy Hill, if you can sit thru the🚦RED LIGHT intersection!!
About 8/9 years ago the "Footprint" landscape of the park🏞️ changed when they had to re-route the creek due to flooding! They shortened the Large Dog area, that once went well beyond the Large Pile of Granite Rocks now outside the Large Dog fence line, between the THREE (3) Large Beautiful Old Oak Trees, that once WERE INSIDE THE FENCE LINE, With *TWO MORE Benches were moved into storage until the REVISIONS WERE COMPLETE! As far as I know, THOSE *TWO BENCHES are Still in Storage!! What a Welcomed "addition" that would be if those benches were returned to their rightful location NOW, in the Large Breed dog side?! 🏞️🌲🪑🪑🌲🪑🪑🌲🏞️
Over the years our FAVOURITE three Parks have become BURGER, along with LEWIS (by Kennestone Hospital) and LAKE COURT (across the street from Smyrna Recycling)
We have noticed the Most Well Behaved PUPS and Owners at LAKE COURT and LEWIS! (Also Heated +A/C bathrooms, Playground, and Beach Volleyball Court at Lake Court!) [[2021 NOTE:2020 record rainfall caused serious erosion, and efforts are ongoing in their efforts to regrow grass on nearly 50-70% of the"field" at Lake Court]]
The Best Behaved PUPS & OWNERS at Lewis!! (They also have a heated & A/C Bathroom, Tennis Courts and Playground!!
((My Personal Observation: There are more pups at Burger, mostly large breeds, that do not wear collars and tags! When I inquired the typical response was "he/she plays rough, I'm afraid he'll lose his collar, or another dog will choke my dog on his own collar, I don't wanna lose his tags so I leave them in the car, just in case I might...
Read moreBurger Park Review Address: 680 Glendale Pl, Smyrna, GA 30080 Hours: 8 AM–7:45 PM (dawn to dusk) I recently visited Burger Park in Smyrna, Georgia, with my dog Ellie, and while it may not be the best dog park out there, it's conveniently close to home and Ellie absolutely loves it. Pros: Convenient Amenities for Dogs: The park offers essential amenities like water stations and poop bags, which are very handy for dog owners. Separate Areas: There are two separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a safer environment for all pups. Size: It's a fairly large park, giving dogs plenty of space to run and play. Well-Maintained: The grass is always mowed, and the park is generally well-maintained. Cons: Flooding Issues: One downside is the park's tendency to flood, especially after rain, turning parts of it into a muddy mess. Ellie loves this, but my car certainly does not! Lack of Shade: There isn't much in the way of shade, so it can get quite hot, especially during the summer months. Mixed Experiences: While most dog owners are responsible and friendly, we've had mixed experiences with other park-goers. Occasionally, we encounter unfriendly or older, grumpy dogs. No Human Amenities: It's important to note that this park is strictly for dogs. There are no amenities for humans—no bathrooms, no water fountains, and no seating areas. It's purely a place for dogs to run and play. Overall Experience: Burger Park checks off the basics for a dog park. It's a pleasant enough place for a quick visit, with adequate amenities and a decent size for dogs to enjoy. The separate areas for big and small dogs are a plus, and it's well-maintained overall. However, the flooding issues and lack of shade can be a bit of a drawback. Despite these, Ellie always has a blast, which makes it worthwhile for us. Rating: 4/5 In conclusion, while there are definitely better parks out there, Burger Park is a convenient and enjoyable spot for Ellie and me. It's a decent option if you're in the Smyrna area and looking for a local dog park. Just be prepared for the lack of human amenities and bring everything you need...
Read moreI have been bringing my 2 maltipoos here quite often and this morning I may not ever again. The dividing fence is loose along with the gate getting from one side to the other is also loose enough for any sized dog to get through. Unfortunately someone's lil Westie was viciously attacked and a horrible scene to watch from any dog owner. A man let his dog come into the park with an aggressive behavior to start and that dog was determined to kill as he ran straight for the fence where the little ones were on the other side. . Well bc the fence was loose he was able to do just that, squeezed under it and grabbed hold of a small Westie. My heart broke for the injured pup and he cried all the way to the car after he dropped from the jaws of the other. And the dogs owner who did the attacking nonchalantly walked to get his dog out of the small dog side. If I go here again and see him or his aggressive dog I will call the police. He has no business being there and I hope the Westie will be ok. I have noticed several people with aggressive larger dogs coming and it is stated they aren't allowed. So if I'm there and theres an aggressive dog I'll just call the police. We dont need other dogs and their families to go through another horrific attack like the one today. Maybe someone can work on getting these fences reinforced and the gate to close...
