Until today, we had been loyal customers of this establishment for over 6 years (I actually think it!s been accurately about 10 yrs., but most of the time I have lived in Georgia. But I didn’t want to be inaccurate in anything in this review so I said 6 because so am Sue it had been longer than that) because of their great quality of food. But over the last year the quality alga’s dramatically dipped. They have started using not only cheaper, but substituting inauthentic, non-Asian, awful substitutions like cheap spaghetti for their once top in the area lo-mein and trying to pass it off like nothing changed to regular customers like myself and then telling me loudly and rudely when I called to inquire, and I quote “So what, it’s the same thing. Why do you complain over something not important . [Then to girl who takes orders] We always use this (not true). I’m not giving them a refund. Which we didn’t want , nor ask for. I simply wanted to understand why, let them know it was not a preferable substitute, see if hopefully they could revert back, and find out why they would try to pass off cheap, Al dente spaghetti for lo-mein to 2 long time customers who ALWAYS ordered the lo-mein and both think we couldn’t tell the difference, wouldn’t care, and didn’t deserve to be told ahead of time of a very pivotal substitution. Considering the lo-nein noodles are the center, focal point, and majority of the Pork Lo-mein dish. Hence the name. But to be disregarded, dismissed, underestimated, disrespected, and unappreciated and unvalued for our loyal patronage in the rudest, most condescending, and insulting way possible all while trying to gaslight me into believing, contrary to my own knowledge and personal experience, that this is how it has been for years is not only absurd, but wildly audacious, and just terrible business practices. If cost was the issue in regard to buying cheaper spaghetti noodles, I'd wager that the loss of business, especially from regular customers who spend a decent amount $60+ (plus a great tip for a takeout order) so at least $75 minimum, is a far greater loss than the pennies per order they saved from substituting cheap spaghetti. Needless to say, we shall no longer be patrons of this establishment after today. Hopefully this review will help others avoid similar...
Read moreI have learned there is not a perfect Chinese restaurant… But if they have decent food (they do), an interesting atmosphere (dated, but cozy), and good service (they do in the form of a delightful manager/owner, “Jenni” I believe), you can have a surprisingly good experience. I picked up dinner tonight and we had: Pork Egg Foo Young. Very tasty. The egg was breaded and cooked a little more than we are used to and the take out was drenched in the sauce. I normally prefer the sauce on the side, but this version just worked for us this time. Garlic Chicken. Best of the two items in my opinion. Simple dish with moderate garlic, and not overcooked onions, celery, and mushrooms. Basic fried rice. Simple and cooked about right. I added some of the Egg Foo Young sauce to add a nice flavor. Egg Rolls. I ate mine too fast to deconstruct it for me to comment on… other than it had some shrimp in the mix. One note, I use mustard on my egg rolls, and while the little packets looked the same as those from other restaurants, these had slightly little more heat (which I liked).
The “experience” was swayed greatly by a short but pleasant discussion about China and places “Jenni” and I had both visited. It felt like I had met a new neighbor and friend. We will return and eat-in...
Read moreThe food is bland here, very tasteless.
Also, check your order before you leave-they left an entire entree off after I repeated it several times and paid for it.
Jenny said that I could come back for it after going back and forth telling me she was sure she put it in the bag.
I had stop her and explain that I have no reason to stop my evening dinner to call you about a missing entree if I received it.
She can keep the entree and the tip I left for my to-go order.
Prospective patrons: Be sure you have tons of soy sauce-as you will need it to bring flavor to the food they serve.
It is also in a desolate, empty parking area, and the red carpets inside are unsanitary and tattered.
There was one person dining in-solo.
There was also one tiny, lonely, orange fish in a large fish tank. Poor fish needs a few buddies to swim with.
My family and I agreed: We will not return. Fried rice-plain, bland Main entrees - include celery and bell pepper, bland Crab angle {sic} they don’t call it angel which we found funny- taste is oddly off, bland Egg rolls - crunchy, but extremely bland Soup - watery, bland Chicken lo-mein - bland, and had irregular ingredients Shrimp lo mein - never even received it so I...
