Bon Bon Spa — Attraction in South San Francisco

Let me start by saying they are open almost daily. They’ve covered up windows and only accepted customers through their back door.

My first experience was better than my second. They were a little careless but nice-to me and worked quick. The owner raved about how she can do any design on nails and if we sent her what we wanted done she’d do it. After the appointment the owner gave me her personal cellphone number and told me to text her the next time I needed an appointment. I did, with a video of what I wanted done. She didn’t respond til the next day and said she would have to watch it and her back to me. I checked in about 1-2 days later and she said she’ll let me know later. Over a week after the first text I asked if I could schedule and appointment to get it done. She texted me at 3.40pm and told me to come in at 4.15pm... it was impossible since I not close by. We rescheduled. I stopped by the next day only to hear that she can’t do the design I wanted done. Fine, I picked something else. But then they did not have the time to do it. I left with a mediocre French manicure.

During my second appointment, two other customers ran into issues as well. One had her pedicure done with regular nail polish when she asked for gel. And the other waited almost an hour for her appointment and only got seated when she was about to walk...

I schedule a appointment with AI for acrylic nail full set at 11:15 am on 2/27/25 I got there 11:10 am and I say I have a appointment at 11:15 with AI for full set acrylic and she was helping someone else and then someone else came in and she run to her to help her and they only put me in the chair to wait for pedicure, they stared my pedicure at 12:20pm and then they removed my nail and I thought okay we are getting someone she will come and start my acrylic but then she was like let’s do Gel X is better and I was hesitant and I say I like acrylic and she push me to do Gel X , AI never touch my nails it was someone else even though my appointment was with her , she finish her client and say I have to go 1pm and they barely were doing my suppose Gel X nail terrible nails , I hated it and I told the lady who was doing it and she told me i didn’t know you had a appointment , she was they look cute and I say I guess , i don’t like them I say and she was like sorry honey next time acrylic so she was like is $120 I was like for this terrible job WHAT !!!! I'm very happy with my experience at Bon Bon. I haven't had my nails done professionally in 15 years and this salon was my first step back into professional nail care. The staff all seem to be quite experienced and detail oriented. I appreciated the care and the time they took to do my nails the two times I've been there recently.

More importantly, they were good to my partner who is male presenting and loves manicures. This is important because I know some salons are not so open to this. It's important for us that they feel welcome to come and beautify themselves.

The prices are very reasonable for the results recieved. They are open to whatever shape and design you choose (even if it changes mid-session as it did with me) and will offer services that meet your needs if you're unsure or have questions. This will be my frequent...
