Contrary to the idiocy and blinded view of Matt Sherwood, this bookstore is perfect. As a literature major I encounter book stores (online or in person) on the daily. In Utah, it's difficult to find a bookstore that doesn't sell used books that are either falling apart or titles that never sold; moreover, it's difficult to find a bookstore aside from Barnes and Noble that sells new books that are not religious texts. That being said, Poppy's Books & Gifts is everything that you could wish for. The owner has ordered multiple books for me so I can purchase the text through a locally owned bookstore rather than Amazon or B&N. The child's section, contrary to Mr. Sherwood's falsified information, is not "woke propaganda" (unless you consider If "You Give a Mouse a Cookie" or "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to be woke or LGBTQIA+) but has a wide variety of prize winning, contemporary books that deserve a place on every child's shelf (unless, of course, you are like Matt and refuse to give a mouse a cookie). They restock novels weekly and are always happy to take suggestions. Penguin classics, Brandon Sanderson, Tolkien, Toni Morrison, Kazuo Ishiguro, and so many others populate the shelves and tables of this cute shop. I cannot recommend this store enough. Read moreWould give a million stars if I could! I started going to Poppy at the beginning of the summer and have loved every interaction I have had there. From incredible book recommendations to finding one of the greatest rings I've ever seen, this place truly has it all. The vibe is immaculate and the staff are some of the kindest people I have ever interacted with. I am specifically writing this review because of my recent interactions with one of the owners Karin. She was so helpful and kind during the Tricia Levenseller book signing. She too perfectly staged pictures, interacted with us all, and was just so fun to be around. She also helped me just a minute ago with a ticketing issue for their Iron Flame event. She really cares about her shop and her customers. I recommend this place for everyone! There are few places that have such great people in charge, can create a wonderful product, and consistently go above and beyond for their customers. This place deserve all the love...
Read moreI recently visited Poppy's Books and Gifts, and what a delightful experience it was! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine passion for literature from the staff. The customer service here is nothing short of exceptional, making you feel like you've just stepped into your best friend's cozy living room.
The atmosphere is incredibly homey, with shelves filled to the brim with books of all genres and charming knick-knacks that add to the inviting ambiance. It's the kind of place where you can lose yourself in the aisles for hours, and the staff will happily chat with you about your favorite reads or recommend hidden gems.
So, if you're a bookworm like me who craves not only a great read but a warm and welcoming place to discover new literary treasures, Poppy's Books and Gifts is your home away from home. It's where great books and fantastic customer service meet, creating a haven for every...
