Cautionary tale of a rude manager as a stubs member who's been one for at least 5 years I'm plenty old enough for R rated movies but have yet to get a new license because of personal circumstances I offered my literal birth certificate along with an old school ID with my name and picture to identify me and while I understand not taking it the man was rude and essentially called me lazy saying "a five year old could do that" he also tried to deny my friend who did have his ID because of "suspicion" I understand rules and policies but I felt berated specially as I was leaving he then made a comment about how "he was a kid my age once" I'm a full grown adult and I believe I look like a full grown adult so that comment was out of left field and uncalled for. When I needed to talk to my friend who had already went into the movie and even said he could of course follow to make sure he tried to say I couldn't because I was "interrupting" the experience when the previews had just barely started, all i wanted was to get my friends key so he could watch the movie and i wouldnt have to wait outside in the rain, not mention him refusing me a refund because the movie already started Overall I've very rarely had a bad experience but I've also never met that manager so maybe it's just him. I've been going to the movie theaters for years and sadly I'm unsure if I'll go back. There are plenty good movie theaters in my town that aren't associated in with AMC so I think I'll let that tradition die fast I've already stopped getting popcorn because of past employees telling me how it's machine is never cleaned and there's often mold at the bottom especially at springfield-il locations. Amc has been going down fast sadly so I suppose the standards have too, I do truly miss good...
Read moreThe most amazing movie theater I've ever experienced!! We had pre-ordered our tickets.. and we literally just walked in the door, and without any hassle, went straight to our theater. Well lit, stadium seating with the most comfortable recliners for each of us to sit in. Each with cupholder, and adjustable, so you're able to recline as far back as you wish. At first I thought our row was the only one equipped with the oversized row and oversized leather recliner... it wasn't until half way through the movie when I had to go to the restroom, that I realized every row and seat were the same. The rows are so wide, that not a single person had to sit up or lower their feet to allow me to pass. Even as the movie was playing, the lighting was perfect for me to see the floor and walkway to the lobby and back without having to strain. The Best part was how extremely clean the theater was. Your shoes didn't stick to the floor as you walked, and the seats didn't have any nasty layers of the previous guest, or their refreshments. My only complaint would be the outrageous price I paid for a fountain drink..8$. Especially seeing Golden arches across from the theater entrance, where a fountain drink cost all of 1$. But I guess those super comfy recliners aren't paying for themselves.. Overall wonderful experience!! Lights, sounds, seating, touch, and smell were pleasing. However, take my advice and don't set your recliner all the way down.. which is kinda like laying in bed..or you may sleep through over half the movie as well as I did. Cheaper to...
Read moreWow super impressed with the remodel of this facility. Didn't even know it happened. Great seats, smaller seating screens because of bigger seats. must better than 12 with its stadium erect seating . Theater closes to early miss the days of movies starting at 12am. If go just 20 mins north in a town with a 10th of this city's population and you can get later showings. That is just sad. 3 years later dirty as is was before remodel. Unprofessional and inattentive employees except when they are walking though during the movie. During shows they do get the room dark enough. update 4-2022 Review for the whole AMC group of theaters in this town. Had 3 theaters now down to two. More than 100,000+ populate Springfield. Just over 200k for the metro area. Not a single theater with a showing of a movie today past 10:30. Also check a an major upcoming movie, even its lates showing is 10:30pm. Some one needs to buy these people out and do this better. Few years ago they had 12am showings today latest Saturday showing 8:30pm, That is just outright sad. They wonder why people say there is nothing to do here. Update 2/17/23 They claim it's not a new policy but they are enforcing it now. You can only get popcorn refill if your a stubs member. Be a stubs member buy large popcorn and you can only get one. 10 dollar for movie maybe 1 dollar of movie. All that means is won't ever buy popcorn again. Drive-in just make much...
