Update- No change, this store still feels like a swap meat. Poor organization makes it hard to shop. Since JCP went to the centralized registers to cut employee costs... that's the only staff you can find. Do not expect help from any employee. If you even find one, they have no clue. They don't even have enough good staff to keep the restrooms clean! Syringes in the stalls, trash on the nasty floors.... they should level this whole mall and make it a movie theater, a park or .... a cemetery! That would be ironic. Lol This time the store was hot and uncomfortable. It just has the feeling of an out of date dinosaur that just won't die! When you think of the quality JCP use to be... it's kind of sad. 😔 Online shopping is killing stores like JCP and the shopping malls. But don't feel too bad... remember that's what they did to the downtown shops and the Ma & Pa shops years ago. They are the ones that started the "save a few pennies" style of shopping. Now it's come back with a vengeance to bite them! Now we just watch them sink like the Titanic. Original review- JC Penny use to be a decent store. But now every time I go, which is not often, I am more and more disappointed. The store has gotten so bad, I feel like I'm at a thrift store. The clothing department is a mess! You might as well plan on searching through mountains of clothing to find a specific size, especially in the sports team themed clothing. When I complained, one checker actually told me "Yeah, that sports stuff just gets thrown in there. They don't even check for size or gender, they just pile it in." Some of the items on end shelves aren't even tagged with a price. Buy one get one 50% off but no price! Carry all of your stuff around until you are lucky enough to find a register with someone there to price check everything? Nope! Worst thing... the men's bathroom upstairs was disgusting!!! I'm not even going to describe it, it was just so gross! Looks like it hadn't been cleaned in years! Stunk so bad! Anyone that says it had been cleaned any time recently is flat out lying! I should have my shoes cleaned and send them a bill. As bad as this sounds, it is worse! Shopped for a set of pots and pans. Display set was with different sets. Couldn't find the same set in a box or an employee to ask. The displays and shelf sets/ brands were just random. Some priced, some not. The display set I wanted to buy... nowhere to be found on the shelf. This whole store is a dump! Penney's has been going down hill for years. Over priced on name brands and store brand items are cheap and low quality. Not so bold prediction if JC Penney doesn't do something drastic, it won't survive.

Frustrated, been buying jeans here for the past 10 years. My wife got my last pair (as a surprise) and they were the correct size but were the wrong fit. I wanted to exchange these pants with another set but I didn't have my receipt and they couldn't find the purchase via our credit card. The pants still had all the stickers and tags and I was 100% willing to pay any difference and was planning on buying a couple extra pairs. But...I was told that I could have purchased the pants at another store and that at they wouldn't help. 🤷‍♂️. The annoying part about the ordeal is the guy at the front told me I could exchange my pants at another desk, knowing that the other cashiers weren't going to let me. He later admitted that he knew I couldn't exchange them once I asked if I was allowed to walk around the store without a proof of purchase. (Thanks for almost setting me up)

This is my favorite place to buy Levi’s and Nike goods. There are hardly ever any people in the men’s section upstairs. The store is kept clean and organized. The cashiers are always friendly. I generally hate clothes shopping. Going here is stress free. The dressing rooms never have a line. J.C. Penney always runs good sales on their in store brands as well. A good time to go is the end of season for great deals.

I purchased a ring from the fine jewelry department. Don’t get me wrong, the ring itself is gorgeous. I'm more upset with JCPenney. When I first got the ring I ordered a 5. My fiance went to pick it up for me. When I got it it was a 5 1/5. The second day of wearing it a stone fell out. THE SECOND DAY. So we took it in to get it resized and a new diamond put in. When we got it back it was the correct size and I was just so excited to have gotten it back I didn't inspect it. (Didn't think I'd have too) Well I should have. When I got home I realized when they put a new diamond in they folded the prongs OVER the diamond. I took it in today to get it fixed. Mitchell was helpful, and very apologetic. The manager Colleen however was rude and unprofessional. She never once said sorry for my inconvenience and didn't act like she even cared. She was even rude with her employees. When they tried to help by calling the repair shop she very rudely, (in front of me) told him to never call him. She also ripped the repair shops number away from another employee. She should never treat or talk to an employee the way she did especially in front of a customer. I'm mad they would send me my ring looking the way it does. I'm mad I've had to go to so much work for a ring I bought a month ago and gotten to wear it 3 days in total. I paid way too much money to be dealing with all these problems. I will probably never buy another ring from JCPenneys again.

Update: I obviously haven’t gotten my ring back yet. But Jesse did call and reassured us he would take care of everything and make sure it’s done right. He’s also addressing the rude customer service I...

I always like shopping here for shoes and such. One issue is the fact that the prom dresses and formal dresses are very lacking. I am a much smaller size, and it was hard to find, even online. Not only that, but also in January, in case those believe I wasn't early enough. Smaller sizes sell quickly, so I've learned to be early. Also, the card our family has had a payment for the card, and checked the bank and all to see it had gone through. I guess it wasn't finalized, and will check that out later. It angered my mother, who even said she might stop her service with said card. Other than that, this is my go to stop when in the mall. There was one lady in the sephora shop who worked alone on her shift, and she was very good at it, though it was easily stressful because many people would walk around aimlessly in the store and she would try to be helping me. I kept thinking it would be easy for someone to shoplift since the displays were quite tall. As I waited to be helped with foundations and such, since she would help a bit but have to go to the register and check around the store for anybody and keep tabs, we would keep an eye on some customers, ready to help. I had put away an samples she would grab to help me out to lessen the other burdens I placed on her. She was very kind, and loved her work. She is the most kind and dedicated sephora worker I've ever run into, and was determined to give me a good match for my skin and color, while I found others weren't so much that way. Some good things at JCPenneys, some I...
